Hey everyone!

I've been on and off this forum for about a year and recently had a lapse in my mental health and attempted to partially hang myself.

Ever since my attempt, at random times throughout my day/week i'll have this odd dry taste in my mouth that I feel when I get close to CTBing with my partial hanging set up.

Does anyone else have this experience? Is it just a weird form of PTSD?

It's possible..hanging from you'r neck can cause damage. Give it some time. Could aswell just be anxiety. If it doesn't improve you should get it checked by a doctor. Just tell them you were hit in the throat don't tell them about hanging yourself obviously.

I had this too! So glad you posted. My first attempt was made with chloroform which DEFINITELY put a taste in my mouth. When that failed, however, I switched to partial and every time I tried, I would get a taste in my mouth. I do not think it was the same as the chloroform, however, I wondered if it was just an association with my first attempt. You posting that you have the same sensation though makes me think it is something about either restricting blood flow to the head (which would also restrict flow to the mouth/tongue) or some psychological thing having to do with losing consciousness. An interesting thought to research 🤔
