My lack of finances, independence, and freedom doesn't seem temporary to me.Imagine responding this way to anything else. No matter what they complain about tell them it's a temporary problem. Technically it'll even be true. If someone brings up that people will be upset if you ctb tell them that's only a temporary problem. As soon as it's their problem the fact that it's not literally eternal seems to matter less.

It's just a knee jerk way to dismiss and invalidate another person's distress if they dare to say what's on their mind. While virtue signalling that they are not a completely shitty person.
