"Suicide is selfish" is, to me, a classic example of stupid hurtful things people say out of ignorance and... selfishness!

And dear OP - Yes you do you have quite the gift of annoying people. I accidentally do that every day, truly by mistake. People fly into a rage at me saying what to me sounds like "hey nice day". If you're doing this on purpose, I admire your skills. If you're doing this by accident, know you're not alone.

i do not intend to annoy anyone, but when they are annoyed by the fact that I say anti suicide things in a pro choice and NOT a pro suicide forum, then I have not much to say. They are annoyed because they're hurt. They are fanatics who are not ready for discussion.

I dont tell you what to do. I suggest you to stop engaging with me since it annoys you so much, but you're still doing it. Im not forcing you to do anything. I just say that if you're not ready to listen to anti suicide stuff in a pro choice and NOT pro suicide site, then you can simply not engage with me. You can report me to the mods if you want. I do not do anything wrong. Im acting by the rules of the forum.

In my opinion, I don't think it's outlandish to see suicide as selfish, but only as long as you consider the fact that everyone is inherently at least a bit selfish by default. "Looking out for number one," so to speak, is the brain's main goal in order to promote its own survival. For those who are suffering, "survival" can end up presenting as suicide (though I know this sounds immensely contradicting), because that IS them "looking out for number one"... Making the suffering stop, whatever the cost, even if they DO truly care for those they leave behind. The selfishness of wanting to save oneself, however one can, doesn't negate the care they have for others; these can coexist. In the end, everyone is selfish because that's how humanity is biologically wired.

So, all of this considered, I honestly think most of the controversy of this discussion comes more from deeming "selfishness" automatically as a negative or evil thing, because personally I really don't think it is. It's just a neutral trait that comes with being any animal with SI.

Asking someone why they're still alive is just not OK.
I guess I should have just posted on this thread again, rather than addressing to you personally - I had a lovely little message telling me "user banned" & the multiple reasons why.
I have no doubt you & you kind will keep popping up, I cannot change that.
What I have to do, is ALWAYS succeed, instead of mostly succeed in not reading this shit, not wasting my energy, not fuelling it, not giving you what you want.
But I guess, if you are in fact banned, this particular instance was worth it (I think...)
I don't bother again tho, I don't want SaSu being a source of rage, that's defs not why I need this place...

I believe in freedom of speech, I really, really do - but there are lines that just shouldn't be crossed.
I got a "your report has been resolved message", saying user banned.
I hope so.
I try so, so hard to not engage with trolls, but I always feel the need to stick up for other people & I occasionally get sucked in at weak moments.
Gotta try harder, there's always another troll, & another, ad infinitum...

I did, for the obvious bait this thread was. I actually quite liked dismantling his flawed Pascal's Wager in the other thread. Rebuttals are always the most fun when the theory is flawed to begin with. He'll be back, he might be already really. Pragmatically, it is always better to just not reply. They love the engagement&learn to troll even better the next round. Even this very post I'm doing right now is technically wrong to make. People like that are really fucked in the head. No real other way to put it.
