They don't even realize that these articles in themselves are leading people to sites like this. That's how I ended up here. I read an article about some one dying from suicide using info from a suicide site which provoked my interest in finding this site. I found it and am grateful I did. I just wish they would leave the site alone and let people make their own choice in regard to suicide.

Same here! The article I read didn't mention this website by name, but I was able to find it anyways by googling some of the keyphrases the article used.

And I'm so glad I did, because I'm sick and tired of the counterproductive restrictions on communications about suicide on other websites. I want to discuss suicide on a website that respects the fact that the way I feel is rational, where I don't have to worry about having my post deleted just because I was honest about my feelings.

The only reason I ever came across this website is because multiple news articles talked about CTB forums/websites and I became very curious and interested in maybe being able learn for on that. Which led me to do more deep searches to come across SS.

I'm looking forward to it. Some class-A emotional storytelling journalism there. 41 whole words out of well over 3,500 about why these things are happening in the first place...and that's basically just saying "the government plans to throw a bunch of money at mental health resources". Way to go, team.
