Within your lengthy statement, I freely admit I struggle to find something specific that directly concerns the relationship between AI and mental health.
Please direct me to any mention of the way AI interacts with mental health, here.
We are happy to see what you have to bring to the table, so that anyone reading may be able to benefit and heal their own lives via contributions of information useful for causing healing and avoiding harm. But I feel it may not be in our best interests to discuss in technical detail "AI as an artform" on a thread about mental health.
If you are sincerely curious about the effect of AI upon mental health, I would like to add to the discussion these following links, that directly concern AI and its known effects on mental health. (Note: I am not interested in debating this. If you write a refutation I will not engage that: for reasons clearly listed below.)
Psychiatrists Warn That Talking to AI Is Leading to Severe Mental Health Issues
A new analysis found that a ton of mental health problems are associated with AI — and more than two dozen chatbots are implicated.
People Are Becoming Obsessed with ChatGPT and Spiraling Into Severe Delusions
A startling number of ChatGPT uses are developing intense, reality-bending AI delusions. The impacts on their real lives are often disastrous.
OpenAI Says It's Hired a Forensic Psychiatrist as Its Users Keep Sliding Into Mental Health Crises
OpenAI said it's hiring a forensic psychiatrist to help research the effects of its AI products on users' mental health.
Let me remind us. This is a resource thread. Meant to provide resources and directly guide help and healing of individuals here. This thread is not under the "discussion" tag, and certainly nowhere in the title or initial posts is the topic of AI art found.
Ask yourself. "If I was someone looking for practical advice, to heal my life; what good could I find in the information of the comment I have posted?"
The average person merely wants to know how AI will affect their own life. They do not hold strong opinions on "AI as art", "different kinds of AI", and numerous other technical aspects. I can understand why you wanted to reference technical aspects in your post, as it seems you are quite interested in this subject and have a viewpoint that I am sure is nuanced and details in its own respects, but I am afraid that such information is simply not helpful to someone trying to heal, in relation to AI. However, if I am indeed mistaken on this (as I freely admit the possibility of), you are most free to educate me on how the information you have provided, can be of use to someone trying to improve their lives. (Just to clarify, this is not sarcastic at all, and I am only seeking sincerity here.)
I am sure your post would certainly be of fit for a debate/discussion thread; but I don't feel it fits a resources/advice thread. A lot of the points and arguments you presented, are of a technical nature, and not of the nature that earlier posts in this thread would have for a concerned reader.
...
I seriously encourage you to step back, and take another look at the context your post is sitting in, and, on another note, the kind of approach that was taken through the use of your words.
I encourage you to give more respect to someone, of a different viewpoint. In this case, someone wrote out his own opinion, really put his own heart and connected his own life to his post; and you stated that "this post deserves only a laugh". He was just expressing his own opinions, just made a quick expression of his thoughts on AI. He was not seeking debate but merely sharing his own viewpoint. What good is it for our collective education and collective healing, for us to not respect each others' ideas, and to meet them with anything but benefit of the doubt? I encourage you to assume the person you are writing to, however misguided you may think them, to assume that they are coming from a genuine and sincere place with a good intention. (It matters less how "right" we are, and more about the humanity we give to each other, and the way we express that. No matter how right we may be; it loses all ability to connect with people, to truly teach people, and most certainly, to heal people, if we do not convey it through good will and respect, for one another.)Lmao is the only reaction this statement deserves.
but we are discussing mental health and AI; not "AI in the health industry" as a whole.Generative AI has uses in medicine for mappings and recognition of early illnesses ...
I totally get it that it's easy to get very focused on a particular point, and write fully on that topic, but I ask that you please consider both the topics of your writing here, as well as (I request this kindly) the particular way you express your passion on the subject, in direction towards others.
I do not wish to give any hint of ill will towards you (and I hope none of my words here have given you any such bitter sentiment, and if they have I do not mean it so, and only intend to say this with good will and benefit of the doubt), but I want to merely request this. Please read through your own words here, and consider the effect of the methods of presentation utilized at various points in your posts here, and the kind of emotions and sentiments they may instill within a reader. (That is all that I would recommend, in case the rest of my recommendations may be too numerous at this current moment for you, for example if you are feeling tired today.) I give this to you in sincerity. I hope that you feel well, and if not so, that you will feel well and continue to be so as well. I write this to you not to "correct" but to merely guide us both towards understanding each other; which I do believe is in our best interests, of healing, and for the fidelity of our ways towards one another. If any of my statements here have come off as bitter or condescending, then I apologize for such acrid sentiment, and only wish you well. I do not mean to reproach at all; only to potentially bring other things (that I believe to be of sincere importance) for the sake of your honest consideration, because I feel it would be beneficial for us.Competent AI users do not just ...
