I've heard that SN can be gross or burn the throat due to it's acidity, what if one were to take a throat numbing lozenge like lidocaine or pregablin? Would that be useful in numbing the mouth from SN?

I doubt it would help much? I only saw one report of someone mentioning throat discomfort anyway, I don't think it's serious. But I don't think pregabalin would help

How about a couple of sprays from a bottle of chloraseptic sore throat spray?

Works like a numbing agent, that might make mouth and throat feel better?

It's a great idea, I want to use them too. But I'd recommend to get lozenges with benzocaine (at least 10mg). Lidocaine has just a mild effect unfortunately.

What lozenge would you recommend then?

Wouldn't that just make it harder to swallow SN then? It wouldn't stop your taste buds?
Actually, the opposite would happen. You want things to be numb so when you swallow it you have less of a chance of your initial gag reflex to kick in and have it come right back out. Doesn't prevent the vomiting later, just the possible initial reaction.
