I love that you can obtain many different items from shops and stores that can possibly be used with intent to CTB, albeit with less peaceful and reliable results. But as soon as SN is introduced - and I don't think SN deaths even represent a sizable proportion of CTBs - law enforcement suddenly becomes so determined to clean the shelves. It's as if they want you to toil your life away suffering as much as possible.

This is fucked. So sorry many of you feel traumatized and hurt, or that you have been pushed towards ctb as a result of this event when you genuinely aren't ready and don't want to.

Don't they realize this hurts suicidal people worse by making them feel trapped-forcing them to act quickly, rather than deciding whether or not to live or die on their own terms rather than than what the whims of the state decides?

Truly shameful, especially when such horrific and barbaric methods are out there just sitting on the shelves of shops, methods that can cause serious damage to a person who survives the attempt. Not only that, but sometimes others who unknowingly come into contact with someone who has used a dangerous gas or chemical may get hurt by proxy because they have no idea that the person who ctb used such a method.

Don't forget train drivers who have to live with ptsd because of all the people they have to watch make the jump over the course of their careers. Where is the concern for them? Where is the compassion for people who suffer permanent brain injuries as a result of failed hanging? Oh right, the world doesn't care about the state of those people, only that they are still alive even though many of them are now suffering even more than they did prior to the attempt.

Someone needs to have a serious conversation about this and get it through these people's heads that there are many of us who have horrible illnesses and diseases, life circumstances that won't improve, many other UNFIXABLE problems that we have tried for years to solve and won't get better. I don't want to keep suffering from chronic fatigue for the rest of my life. They shouldn't have the ability to chain me to a body that is fundamentally broken. Wanting to escape from many more years of misery thanks to an incurable somatic illness is not irrational.

Putting this on people's NHS records as well is yet another blunder. Sure, they think they are helping. The intentions are good. I don't deny the people in charge of these sting operations have a firm conviction that they are doing the right thing and helping someone by doing these things.

However, now everyone who purchased this chemical, even though they may not have intended to ever use it, or were waiting until the point of no return like an illness becoming terminal, are going to have a permanent stain on their record saying that they're "mentally ill and suicidal". No one should be forcefully hospitalised and put on medications against their will simply for wanting a way out of this life. Yet, I have no doubt the attempts to section people are going to ramp up. Why do they think this helps anyone?

Backing people into a corner and making them feel like they have to attempt dangerous methods is not the way to help them.

It's actually true. They will prosecute you if you have a TV with no TV license. You are also not allowed to watch BBC catch up TV online if you don't have a TV license. Authorities in the UK are bored because we don't have guns going off all over the place so they go around confiscating televisions and meat curing products. SN is not my method of choice but I am curious how they can confiscate a legal substance that you don't need a license to obtain. UK law states that nobody is allowed to help another person self-terminate but it's not illegal to end your own life. I'm not sure if it's legal for them to take your SN.

I had a 'wellness check' today. Police on doorstep asking questions, I ordered through clearnet on an auction site, I gather that the seller has been nabbed and police are going through his seller list.

I will be terminating my account soon, they knew about the site, the method and I do all this through tor, except ordering ther SN which was at least 18 months ago. I'm fucking terrified.

Same, I denied everything. They kept saying it wasn't illegal but wanted to do a wellness check. I didn't let them in and only gave my last name.

They are here, on the site, they knew I was here, they mentioned GPE, moonie, faust and a number of others who are not here with us anymore, it's beyond panic-attack inducing.. So I'm done giving advice to anyone. (which is exactly what they wanted, to scare us and cause in-fighting. Paranoia and anxiety about even talking to other people)

I've spent more time on here in 24 hours since they took it than I have in months. As soon as I got SN I stopped wrapping things round my neck as I had an 'out' If I needed it. Now I'm back on here hoping for another method to fall back on and the temptation to practice shutting my carotid arteries off has started again. Not sure if that's 'help' but to be fair they have gave my number to someone who may be able to help, hopefully this will be a way to get some worthwhile mental health care as everything else I've tried such as GP, counselling, medication etc.. has been crap.

I think so because if they have found somebody via an online purchase they will likely have your IP address as well as your shipping address but it's really nothing to worry about as there has been no crime committed (This discussion is not illegal, suicide is not illegal and buying meat curing products is not illegal - even if you do intend to use them for self-termination) so even if they do know who you are in relation to this forum I'm not sure it would matter. I am a bit concerned for the sellers though, hopefully, they don't take any blame for the way people choose to use their products :/

But as long as one uses Tor to visit SS, no one should be able to find their real IP address and not be able to link their order and SS account. I know there are honeypots etc. on the Tor network but why should the police make such a huge effort tracking people who aren't doing anything illegal.

I'm afraid we can only speculate as long as those to whom this happened despite having protected themselves with Tor or VPN don't comment on it, which is ok.

Just a heads up really and wondering if anyone else has had a police visit. I just had the police at my door questioning me over an SN purchase I made on eBay 10 months ago. The policeman told me the seller is being investigated over 17 deaths from SN he sold. The police have 147 names of buyers and are checking up on them, seizing the SN if it's in the house.

UK police don't need warrants to chat with people, they'd need a warrant to search the house - which they don't seem to be doing. I suppose that if you admit to having a substance that they reasonably believe you might use to harm yourself then they probably would have grounds to remove it regardless

They didn't force a search, at first I denied having any but due to being under my MH team, they have to notify them anyway that I may have it. So either way, I was pretty much stuck. I decided to hand it over given it wasn't my chosen method anyway, and it had been stored for a long time, plus wanted to avoid any of my family knowing who live with me.

my mental health team have been pretty handsoff recently which I loved, not really looking forward to next week but will be interesting to see how things now change. It definitely is putting me under more pressure to speed things up.

Mine have been the same recently, they didn't listen or care and I got away with doing a lot. But since this has happened I think they'll be feeling more pressure to keep track of us, which is why I'm now pushing very quickly with Ctb.

the annoying thing is, I wanted to discharge myself, which already been worried about doing without the police visit. I really want them off my back. I want to say am moving away and yeah. It's so tricky and don't want my family to be informed. I stopped taking medication ages ago and mental health team are clueless re. that so that's another concern i have because if they flag me up, they will surely realise that. Really makes this whole thing so stressful. Sorry you are going through this too.
