Help SN aquarium test showing a weird colour

I have tested the SN and was very confused when it showed Yellow when it's supposed to atleast be white or pinkish does anyone know what it means?

That bottom pad that is dark brown, is that meant to be white too? Looks like there's something else that isn't SN in it that's reacting with the pads. Or colouring has been added to the powder. Silly question but you are holding the stick at right angles to the pot when you're checking the result cos I've seen people do that wrong? And you're definitely reading the nitrite scale, not nitrate? I had a quick look at YouTube and the JBL nitrite only test kits go from yellow through to pink.

The bottom part is dark purple shadow kinda blocks it yeah I double check it's supposed to be this way the top part is supposed to be nitrite and nitrate

Though afterwards I checked my strips again after flying overseas magically turned to the right colour either it takes a long while or contaminated with whatever in the plane

You should only read the tests after the specified time I believe. I think its important enough to maybe get a new test kit, perhaps nitrite only?

Yeah I planning to order it soon I'm overseas atm so can't order too soon
I'll order another source of SN with a nitrite test kit
