  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

That's completely bullshit, there is not a single recorded case of SN ever causing brain damage.

Not true. In before "we don't know what she really gave them, despite this being a court case with forensic evidence."

So, so sick of this nonsense. Any method that causes death can cause brain damage, hypoxia is the mechanism of death from SN, and hypoxia absolutely can cause brain damage.

SN cannot be both a deadly toxin and completely safe.

There are various news stories relating to this event. one child was in a protracted coma from hypoxic brain injury.

The number of SN fatalities from a medical perspective is quite low with most being within the last decade. Very few people survive a dose over 10-20g with almost all of these due to medical intervention. Of this very, very small number, most don't have lingering effects.

That said, there have been many more CO deaths, and the basic mechanism of injury is the same in both (interfere with the RBC's ability to transport oxygen). There absolutely can be and are cases of lingering neurologic complications from CO poisoning, even if the majority of those who recover from CO poisoning have no ill effects.
