Sleeping pills won't work as an overdose.

Virtually any type of prescription drug in pill form is very unlikely to kill you unless through the lengthy agony of organ failure, or you pass out, vomit and choke on it.
Sorry to seem so negative, but if sleeping pills would do it successfully and peacefully there's a whole shedload of us wouldn't be here.

What if you have 4,000 milligrams of Ambien sleeping medication and 500 milligrams of Clonazepam, which is a Barbiturate.

Very low success rate (14% for Rx, 6% for OTC)
