Should I schedule a text to 911 or not?

I have my method, not CTB until i have the last few things wraped up in my life, so maybe 2 weeks or so? Method is some weird strangulation thing. Essentially two small solid objects (AAA battery size) secured with a tie to compress the cartoids. Blah blah then death.

Yes this is my first post here, I lurked here for however long knowing that inevitably this is how I'd die. Yes, I'm sure, been sure since my son died.

I just dont know if I should send a scheduled text to 911 saying "hey theres a dead body at this address, come pick it up" or if i should just let it be. I dont really want my partner to just walk in after work and stumble upon my body, but i dont know if thats worse than coming home to cops and EMS everywhere.

I am so, so sorry for the loss of your son. Child loss is so deeply unfair and is among the worst thing anyone can experience.

I don't really know enough about scheduling texts, or if there are different rules with scheduling texts to 911 (ie would it auto-send regardless being that it's 911?), to advise on that front. I do see the logic of not wanting your partner to be the person to find you. If your partner does walk in to EMS/emergency personnel, at least someone would be there to break the news and be there with them when they find out.

Thats a good point, people trained in dealing with high emotion situations and whatnot. I'll look into it more, but I'm leaning more towards 911.

I'm thinking an hour or two, so not too long. I'll be long gone though, given my method kills off the brain stem in a few minutes. After a bunch of googling (lol), I guess I'll be texting 988 rather than 911, since it's not clear if they would actually receive it or not.

I think I'm going to be going "old school" myself, and dropping a note to the police department via snail mail, telling them what I've done, where to find me, how to get in, etc. I guess I better be darn sure when I drop that letter in the mailbox .

I worry that a scheduled text won't work for 911. As in, the text will be sent immediately because it's indicating an emergency. Do you know for a fact that that works?? I wish it did but won't gamble that unless I know for certain. It would be ideal

I would schedule the text, I am also going to schedule a text as I don't want my family to be the ones to find my body. A few hours after I'm dead the police will be the first to find my body and they can also give the news to my family.

Just make sure the scheduling is done with enough leeway.You don't want to get up at some point to find out that the attempt failed and then have these guys come over. Or worse yet, come and save you.They'll make your life a living hell.

Yeah, I couldn't find any info on it and I'm not gonna gamble either. Texting 988 (crisis line in canada) should work though. Guess we'll see

Hell yeah they would. I'm thinking 1-2 hours should be enough. Cops take ages to get anywhere here anyways

I never thought about it. I live alone with family nearby so I would probably schedule a text too when I do it so they don't find my putrid body or something.

But then again, I keep reading about how the loss of a child is so terrible. Is it terrible enough that you would want to take your own life? I'm fairly young with alive parents and they seemingly become more loving and caring after I moved from home. However, they're partly to blame for my mental issues but as of late all the blame is on me, I just fucked up and if they knew they would probably want me dead too but still I'm not sure. I just want to have never existed.

I'm concerned too- about the notification aspect. I wanted to send a delayed email but, there's no address for local police stations here. There's another number for reporting crimes via text. However, it's the mechanics of it that troubles me. Something like- you have to depress the send button long enough for the delayed option to appear? Knowing my clumsiness, the damn thing would send immediately! I've settled for sending a delayed email to my solicitor to then alert police. They'll be getting involved anyway with the will.

Is there any way of putting a sign up to warn anyone else not to enter and either wait for or, alert police?

I understand the difficulty of your position, however I would have to recommend against this. The police are notorious for being viciously against suicidal people and any chance they get they will try to "save" you. They are already known for monitoring scheduled emails and tracking people with burner phones. Even if it's possible to tell them safely, what's the point? They want nothing more than for you to suffer. I'm sorry that you're in this terrible predicament.

I believe that we all have the right to choose, parent or child. However, taking into account their and others' reactions is important.

If your body doesn't need to be found fairly quickly then this sounds best
