Hi guys, I plan to CTB in exactly a week from now. I have all the stuff necessary to do the method of SN. I was wondering if I should pack all my stuff up before I CTB since I go away to a university away from my parents home. I wouldn't want them to be sad and depressed packing all my stuff up. And I feel like a letter would help them feel better. As for my social media, I just feel like it would be for the better somehow. Any tips or advice guys?

Well, you wont care about anything after you die so it doesn't really matter

I think that letting whoever be able to choose what to do with your social media would be good. Taking away the record by deleting it would probably hurt a lot. Writing down all your passwords would make things easier. Maybe send it in the mail the same day you are going to do it. It doesn't even have to be anything but a record: "Facebook: user: abc pass: 123" which wouldn't be too hard to explain away if that ever becomes necessary.

Maybe leave some article of clothing or something. I would think your family might want something tangible to remember you by.

I guess you're right. I just feel guilty if I don't try to lessen the pain my parents will feel when I CTB.

Yeah but that kind of attitude can cause resentment in family members.

exactly George. I want them to be happy and not try to let them think it was THEIR fault. It's no one's fault but my own. It's my choice.

Sounds like a good way to get caught... All of those actions are alarming

Yeah delete social media. You don't want all your friends gossiping behind your back.

The trick is, you wont care after you die

yeah. Caring what other people feel is just a survival mechanism to ensure that they still love you and still cooperate to meet your needs. If you don't need to survive, you don't need them to love you.

Harsh reality but love is just for survival. Other than survival, it's utterly meaningless.

That may be the case, but it doesn't make things easier for those of us who are still living! I mean, of course you won't care about the impact of your death on your loved ones once you are dead. You also won't care if you died a slow and painful death. But while we still live, most of us try to avoid pain--for our selves as well as the people we leave behind.

Best pack all your stuff up. Personally I wouldn't want people to feel inconvenienced with how they still have to do something for me after I pass. As for the social media, I'd rather delete it. I absolutely hate it when people post dumb fake shit (maybe not really fake) but temporary feelings of regret and longing after I'm gone. They'll move on after sometime anyway. I don't want to give them that outlet for pretentious caring.

I wish I could have this mindset

Agreed.
Sounds like a good way to get caught... All of those actions are alarming

Agreed. When I was in the 7th grade, I asked my guidance counselor if I could bring my pet bird to school. That set off a sh*tstorm. They called my mom to ask what was going on at home and the next day when I arrived at school I was bombarded with meetings with mental health counselors. The same people who couldn't give a crap about me getting my ass kicked Every. Day. In. And. After. School. all of a sudden were concerned I might commit suicide. Because I wanted to bring my bird to school one day with me.

Don't give 'em any reason to suspect if you're serious.
