Shotgun Recommendations

Looking for shotgun recommends that fit the following criteria: 1) 12 Gauge using probably 00 buckshot, 2) not too long so it would be difficult to use/position/fire (through mouth with butt grounded to floor), 3) easy to load (I'm not experienced with guns), and 4) a trigger that isn't too easy/quick but also not too difficult/might make me lose position with shooting. Any thoughts are much appreciated

I think you should check which shotguns are available in your area or in your country. Consider some local shops, you may even check the gun yourself before you but it.
If someone recommends you a gun, but it's not available in place you live, it's no use for you

Any 12ga will work. Shortest possible. You're only getting off one shot anyway.

Out of ANY OTHER method, shotgun (12ga) in the mouth has the highest success rate. 99%. Nothing can ever be 100%.

When I was looking, the best I found was a Mossberg 500 12ga with 18" barrel. Its capable of using shot or a 12ga slug. The short barrel made it easy to use...

I understand, thank you. What I don't understand is how to aim in such a way as to reduce the possibility of error to a minimum. I have had acquaintances who died from a shotgun, but I don't even know what gun it was exactly. Do all people use a 12 gauge when they decide to commit suicide with a shotgun? And why do some write that the length of the shotgun is a problem? I also read on the Internet that there are people who cut the barrels of the shotgun before committing suicide, but others claim that cutting the barrels means reducing the power. Is this true?

There are so many aiming threads already. Use the search feature. As for cutting the barrel with a hacksaw, no it won't reduce the power, not for this purpose. But keep in mind that if you do saw the barrel off to be less than 18 in. long, the legal minimum length, and don't use it for whatever reason, it will become a highly illegal "sawed off shotgun".

Practicing at least once is a good idea to make sure the shotgun and the ammo work, though shotguns are generally very reliable. There is one problem, though. And that is the recoil can be very strong, particularly if you are using a longer Magnum shell (which is a very good idea) and if you are a small weak person, or even just an ordinary 12 guage shell in such a case. It might even hurt you. The recoil will not come into play when using it for the purpose that we are speaking of here as it occurs simultaneous with the discharge. But it will in practice (unless you devise a way to hold it in a vice and shoot it remotely, which can be seen in some videos - but that is greatly complicating things)

From circulated diagrams, you basically aim towards the back of the throat, slightly upwards towards the soft palate. Honestly, I'd say it's pretty hard to "miss" using buckshot because of the spread. I don't know if all people use a 12ga. I'd imagine most do, though, because of their availability, firepower, and affordability. I've seen them for well under $200 US. Length comes into play because you need to be able to reach the trigger. Some have 30" barrels. That might be uncomfortable to try and reach the trigger on one of those. A shorter 18" should be easier. You don't really need to cut a barrel if you're just purchasing one now. Just buy a shorter one. They even make 14" barrel shotguns, which aren't much longer than some large, long barrel handguns really.

slugs with the longest barrels produce the most power / energy which imo increases lethality.

shorter barrels and those with less sights/obstrutions can be reached ,aimed and put in mouth better.. too long a barrel and you might not be able to reach trigger.

but imo any 12 guage with 00 buckshot or slugs in the mouth aimed upward at soft palate will be effective

longer barrels produce higher velocity and so more power but may be more difficult to set up for self deliverance purposes

i've seen many gun suicides on watchpeopledie and the ones i've seen even with tiny little baby guns with 2 inch barrels almost all went out unconscious instantly and then died on the side of the head and in the mouth.
