Since the start of this year I began running. It all started because there was a race I was planning to go but it eventually evolved to a coping mechanism as my mental health deteriorated.

It is my alone time and it helps me to think less. I cannot spiral if I am actively fighting to survive a run. And I also got some progress that I can be kinda proud of :)

Just curious to know if anyone here also runs or does any other kind of exercise that helps in a similar way! :D

I'm glad that running is helping you tolerate life a little better. When my legs aren't hurting, I go for walks, it helps a lot. I put on some music and just wander around, lost in daydreams.

I also find that running helps. I've made a habit of going for a jog when I'm feeling so distressed I can't think clearly

I also find lifting weights can help. I can rep 3 plates on weighted dips and do 4 plates for a triple and that ego boost helps my mood even if temporarily haha

Im glad you found something healthy to do to clear your mind. I used to go on runs but stopped after getting really depressed. When I did run, I found it to be helpful for clearing my mind. Also made me feel a little accomplished. Do you typically run at a set time or whenever you can? I always ran in the morning, but it was always hard getting up so early.

i don't run, but i often go on walks, do bodyweight training or skip rope. it helps almost every time! i'm glad exercising helps you too :D

Do you typically run at a set time or whenever you can?
Typically I run in the evening, it isn't too hot and it's the time I have. Sometimes the motivation doesn't come though, but it happens ig ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(ā ćƒ„ā )⁠_⁠/⁠¯
