Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Life is indeed filled with misery. You're surrounded by death and suffering yatta yatta yatta

Religious folks hold onto this belief that this is all a test until you see either hell or heaven. For eternity. So they live in agony till natural death, to pass the test of life.

Most of us are born Christian, and in Christianity, suicide is a big sin. I was raised with my dad talking claiming people who ctb'd are cowards, which indicates that my dad is in pain as well, but chooses to live on for family? Idk. But I always thought I was a coward, because I would never be able to ctb. So are we all cowards? Me, who doesn't have it in me to end it. And you, who don't have it in you keep going on?

I digress.

Are there any religious folks here? How do you circumvent this feeling that ending it all could possibly land you in hell for all eternity?

Ugh, I am tired of these posts and this question.

Yes, I believe in God etc. and hold existence to be (ultimately) sacred and divine.

No, I do not believe in eternal hell. That is a psychopathic premise. No one who knows God even a tiny bit believes that they're in for eternal damnation and torture.

In fact, one could argue that suicide can often be seen as a radical act of faith and even a statement of faith, and that people who have a genuine, deep spirituality and sense about the divine are more likely to commit suicide.

How is it a psychopathic premise?

If life is a test, and a painful existence and death is part of the test, ending it prematurely would be the worst way to do that test? Considering you don't even wait to see what God has in store for you? Speaking from a religious perspective of course.

I'm not religious but I grew up heavily so. Yes under most forms and sub-types of Christianity, CTB counts as murder, and is therefore a big no no. However, God is seen as all-knowing and all-forgiving. They know of your suffering. Even if someone else is experiencing it and handling it better, God knows you haven't and does not punish you further.

(Have been out of the religious loop for like 6 years, so forgive me if I'm wrong)
