Discussion Recreational Drugs and Self Medicating

I'm currently high on pregabalin. I usually smoke weed most days to sleep, and I use codeine every day. The codeine helps with back pain and headaches, but also lifts my mood so life is somewhat bearable.

I also have valium for when I need to tame the suicidal thoughts.

What's everyone else's substance use like? I don't actually know how people can survive life and sentience without chemical aids...
