It was quite nice as he's a good guy a properly reached out to see if I wanted to go for a drink or something, wasn't after money.
It was hard to tell him that I find it hard/impossible to socialise any more and he even offered to come over to mine for a drink. I briefly touched on my mental health issues for the lack of socialising but it's hard not to really let on how bad it is and how close you are to CTB. It's nothing I'm ashamed of but the regular person just doesn't get it and think you just need or offer you "help"
I know the feeling. Personally I find it exhausting and draining being around "normal" people. The small talk, the mundane chats and it's all just nonsense that you just don't care about. I find it hard to make small talk as I can't bring myself to ask day to day questions as you know the answer is going to lack anything of interest or importance to your life.

For me it is all the depression, which is a typical symptom. Depression steals your mental energy which makes even easy tasks (and friendships) incredibly difficult to maintain. I miss my friends but the thought of having to talk to anyone sounds like I have to run 7 miles. I am too tired for that.
