Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Last night, I went to a CTB location - an above ground railroad crossing - and scoped it out. I can easily walk away from the intersection itself and hide in some bushes/foliage lining the train tracks. This way, pedestrians and the conducter themselves cannot easily see me until I potentially run and lay my neck against the rails.

I stayed long enough to watch one of the trains pass through the intersection. It was an Amtrak passenger train. I saw the front of the train and I think there was nothing obstructing the front wheels, but I'll have to check it out again another night.

The passenger train seemed too slow to cause enough damage to CTB (not even 40 mph). I am certain there are other types of trains that go through - I just don't know their schedules - so I plan on hiding somewhere and watching a few of them soon.

I have some questions to ask before I go out again.
- What's the minimum speed a train should be going for optimal chances of CTB? Is it at least 45 mph?
- Do passenger trains typically slow down at car intersections? Will cargo trains do the same?
- Do the rails get super hot as a train approaches?
- Is there anything else I should be considering that I haven't yet?

idk man, OP's tryna decapitate himself, so prolly vodka and sleeping pills b4hand should do the trick. but he needs to watch out. is the train driver alert? speed, doesn't matter much. u'll get ur vertebrae crushed anyway w/ the weight of a train. also, he/she needs to make sure they're alone.
