Is it possible that my carotids are so deep inside my neck that they wouldn't close even when I would be fully suspended, so I would die only from asphyxia and not from a lack of blood flow to the brain as well? This would mean a lot of suffering and it freaks me out.... please tell me it's not possible

I think it's only insignificantly slightly easier if you have a thin neck but I'm pretty sure the arteries stay proportionally in the same place for every person, if there's enough pressure applied in the right place I'm sure you can't fail
EDIT: Specially if you're doing this in full suspencion

But will full suspension you only get one shot of doing it right. I've heard it takes practise to do it perfectly and being off by only one or two cms even could kind of ruin your attempt...
EDIT: I mean, you would still die of course but it wouldn't be as peaceful. From what I've heard it even feels a bit good when you do it perfectly.

I mean, would you be able to adjust the pressure on your neck in full suspension? In partial suspencion you can just back out if you're not doing it perfectly and then try again
Edit: you don't pass out immediately and you can tell in the first few seconds if you got the precise location right, you will feel it

But if you don't do it perfectly you could end up dying of asphyxiation instead right? Or maybe I'm exagerating about just how flawless the method has to be executed, if so don't mind me

A study carried out on filmed suicide and autoerotic hangings by the Working Group on Human Asphyxia concluded that consciousness is lost in 10 +/- 3 seconds, followed by convulsive movements that continue for 14 +/- 3 seconds, followed by Decerebrate posturing, such as the legs being drawn up or curving backwards, lasting for 18 +/- 2 seconds.

its meant to be a combination of asphyxiation and compression of the arteries in the neck, which leads to the blood flow to the brain being blocked. it is this that causes unconsciousness. I was only worried because sources sometimes say that death in hanging is caused by asphyxiation and/or compression of the arteries, which seems to suggest that it could be for example only asphyxiation (by compression of the airway) without compression of the arteries. this would mean you are conscious for a long time and experiencing all the pain of not being able to breathe... But I don't understand how full suspension can not compress the arteries... there is just so much pressure on the neck it seems inevitable...

Maybe this type of noose? That way one loop can be higher, another is lower + some inevitable padding.
I tried that. I'm still "unchokable" due to thin neck, but might work for others...
PS: Thin neck is a curse, guys. It hurts really bad because the throat cartilage and other pain-prone organs are exposed too much, but fucking arteries are hiding like a snake in the sand.

I have the same problem. I can locate my carotids but I need to press deep with my fingers to be able to start feeling dizzy. There is no way I can close them using a rope. I am only closing the veins and I can't stand the pressure and pain of that for longer than a few seconds.
