  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Is Postmortem mandatory in all suicide cases?

If a Suicide Note is left in one's own hand writing explaining how death happened(N, SN etc.), will that suffice? or authorities are mandated to perform Postmortem in all suicide deaths?

Personally, I dont care what they do with my body after I am gone(feed it to dogs for all i care).

I am only worried how much more it will impact my parents.

This is one of the biggest things holding me back from ctb...I don't want my body F'd with any more than it already has been in life. I'm going to leave a note saying what I did and what to look for on a toxicology report, but I don't know if that's enough to keep them from hacking me apart. I'm even considering recording the entire thing to make it very clear what happened (and that I acted alone) but I still don't know if that'll be enough to dissuade them. I'm also considering signing up for hospice even though I'm not considered terminal...I don't think they autopsy people who die in hospice. I just want to be left the F alone so I can have peace once and for all.

This is a bother. We can't even die in peace without authorities in our families throat making things worse and an extra cost

Will "Religious Objection to Autopsy" / "No Autopsy Request Form" negate the need for an autopsy in case of Suicide in our respective jurisdictions as these guys seem to have?

"Request for No Autopsy form:"

I know I am clutching on to straws but trying to figure out if there is a way to avoid autopsy.

May be Sarco helps in avoiding Suicide as one has to push the button oneself for Sarco to work and the Cause of Death is obvious. PN says he is going to use Sarco in Switzerland later this year.

I read up on my state's laws today and they require autopsy whenever there's a drug overdose. Why not just do a f'ing toxicology report and call it a day?? Why do we need to be hacked apart over a drug overdose?

Also, I put in my letter to whoever comes to claim my body that I'm religiously opposed to autopsy (I'm actually agnostic) but from everything I've read, the law trumps your religious beliefs. I wish I could just jump into a hole and bury myself where no other human being would ever find me.

Well, they have to sign off on a report about what you died of. I would think every nation would do this. Signed sealed, delivered I'm yours!!

so you're supposed to state your exact cause of death in your note? I don't explicitly have "I'm going to [ctb]" in mine nor my method. I thought it would be unnecessary for my parents to read..

Very unlikely. It won't be a choice you get. It's likely a requirement by the state/country. Most countries require them for suicides particularly drug overdoses.

Yeah that won't do anything. If it's required in your country, they will be doing one regardless as they're considered medicolegal autopsy's and are required in cases of suicide in most developed countries.

Ugh, just more cost. Is there anyway to make this easier on my family so they won't be charged for an autopsy how does this work?

In my county they don't have enough staff to do autopsies on all the bodies that would normally meet their criteria

They still investigate overdose cases, and send out public health alerts when there are spikes in fentanyl overdoses, so they are at the very least doing toxicology.
