Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Seeing as SN is less and less readily available, would isobutyl nitrite be a suitable substitute? I just read a thread form March yet there hasnt been a whole lot of discussion other than that. I will link it below.
https://sanctioned-suicide.net/thre...at-are-more-readily-available-than-sn.110502/
Does anybody have any extra information on this subject besides the thread? I think this could be a very promising replacement for SN considering it functions the same way ("methaemoglobinaemia the presence of oxidized haemoglobin which is unable to transport oxygen". https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/125...binaemia,unconsciousness, coma and even death.)
Going to try to research a bit more although it's rather difficult regarding the censorship of search engines nowadays. Will update thread if I get more information besides what's available in March thread. Data seems to be the biggest thing here.

I thought this as well. Other types of nitrite salt could work apparently

I think the problems are going to end up being 1) who is going to be the guinea pig? and 2) how will anyone know for certain? It's not like most on here know anyone else irl. 3) how will the information be conveyed?

SN was introduced in the PPH. Something new like this would, most likely, have to be, also. Trying to find a new method on a forum, where no one can absolutely know for sure what is, and isn't, true, is difficult, at best.

Not intending to be negative. Just my 2 cents.

An unknown substance with no history = common sense

Bumping to see if anyone has any more data to share. I was thinking maybe this could be a last ditch effort if SN or KN couldn't be obtained. I read that you would need a lot of IN for it to be lethal for example. And because of its awful taste (paint thinner-like) it might be much harder to ingest.

If someone ingests IN, it can be deadly even in small amounts. The oral LD50 in rats is about 0.28 g/kg, which when scaled up suggests that 2-5g could be fatal in humans. That said, deaths have been reported from as little as 2-3 mL (~2-3g), so it doesn't take much. If someone throws up after swallowing it and then breathes it in, it can cause chemical pneumonia too. Most people use IN as a fun drug called poppers which can already cause death. So ingestion or inhalation could actually work.

A few things/sources I read:
https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/24734306.2021.1972691#d1e164 (this one is interesting because it's about SN but mentions that 15 people who ctb used "amyl nitrite, isobutyl nitrite, sodium nitrate, or other nitrate-containing substances".)
