Help Please help - What to do with my cat?

I need to be gone in the next week or two & the biggest obstacle is figuring out what to do with my cat. I don't really have anyone left in my life anymore (as in real friends or trusted relatives, except for maybe one person I used to be close friends with who recently reconnected with again, but we usually don't talk or see eachother). I tried asking a few people if they could keep him for a few days but it wasn't successful. I also obviously made a post saying he's up for adoption but it had no interactions, and rehoming him is obviously not a good idea since in case I fail or SI kick in, I'll loose the only creature I can spend time with.

Would it be ethical to make a copy of my keys & text that one last remaining friend if they can come feed him when I'll already be dead? I think it wouldn't be but I genuinely don't know wtf to do. We live alone.

Maybe go for the extra keys option and a vague pre-written text, schedule to send after you're gone. Vague enough that, if you don't succeed, you can excuse it as something else. I know it's tough to be alone but, unlike people, pets will suffer greater consequences when we leave, consider rehoming the kitty even if it hurts. Find solace in the thought that they will be ok even after you leave.

I was wondering what to do with my cat when I was planning on cbt. I had decided to ingest SN and have a text sent to an old acquaintance of mine scheduled to be delivered in 24 hrs.

I would then write a note on my bedroom door saying you know what and lock it, go lay in my bed and wait till I passed out. Then your friend could call emergency services.

I feel you 100% in not having any friends/fam by the way, if you'd like to talk about it lmk. I'm not good with talking things out but I'll listen.

Live until you cat dies naturally. That's my plan. I suppose it will take 10 years, but on antidepressants I can survive.

This is not to make you feel bad, but if you text someone asking them to feed your cat there's no guarantee they will show up. They could just text back saying they can't and not think on the situation again - they have no idea you'd be dead, so they could reasonably assume you reached out to somebody else. Even if they do show up, that doesn't guarantee they'll then adopt the cat and care for it.
