Why are people always shocked when a partial hanging doesn't work? Why not just hang yourself the real way? Sorry but this is every other post.

Not quite sure. I personally have nothing high enough/long enough in my room to hang from so that's why I'm considering partial. Reading all the time that partial doesn't work legit frightens me.

Partial works, but method has to be correct. Many methods don't "work" for people and for one reason or another so no need to single out hanging.

I think it's because long drop hanging is more dangerous and requires a good location for it.

Partial does work though if you do it right. Same as with every method.

With partial, you need two things:

1. Technique and luck to get the noose properly situated
2. Ability to fend off survival instinct and not stand up for 20 seconds or so until you pass out

If you can manage those two things, partial is nice because it's more comfortable and accessible.

If you can't manage those two things, full suspension is for you. It's more or less guaranteed, but it has the potential to be a bit of a bumpy ride.

Do people think partial will be a softer and gentler way to go? Lean on the rope and die?
Those that succeed do so because they bore down on it and powered through any SI issues.
It might be harder than full because you have to force it to succeed.
It is also tough because it leaves so many survivors. This should be one-and-done.

i guess i'ts because the perception of full hanging being more violent and gruesome, but partial gives you seizures and the body still thrashes in a similar way, and if you move out of position then you fail. that's why i consider full or at least very close to full hangig way better, once your feet stop touching the ground, you will die if your rope is stong enough.

and full hanging has been around for fucking 4000+ years at least, it may not be peaceful but it is still the most common suicide method in the world and in history because of reliability, easy to aquire and i'ts quicker than many, many other methods. it is still to this day the go to method if you have no acces to guns or good substances.

i don't blame people for going for a seemingly more peaceful aproach to this method at all, but just looking at this forum we can see that partial hanging has a very lackluster track record and if you want to make it work, then you need to practice a lot and then be lucky enough that your seizures don't move you slightly out of position.

Chris Cornell, Robin williams and Chester Bennington all died by partial. It is possible. They may have just been able to suppress SI bc they were subconsciously 100 percent sure they didn't want to live

What is the real way? To be honest most of the people found hanged are kneeling or touching ground so it's way more common than doing full suspension.
And why torture yourself? I tried full suspension but was able to pull myself up at the last seconds and it was very painful. Partial should be less painful.
And I guess most of the people want to leave without much pain and as peaceful as possible because we already suffered enough. So they are indeed unhappy about it not going the way they wanted because if you decide to try something like this you must be very desperate. So they want to vent their experience and we are probably the only people that care about them so they have none to tell it. So please be respectful. Being kind and open to someone who is hurting on place like this is the least you can do.

I agree it's all about programming the subconscious mind to achieve your goal through massive repetition of affirmations and vivid repeated visualizations. I'm not being sarcastic i really do believe this works.

I think the point is that every person coming to this forum, physical pain and/ or mental pain, should be met with acceptance and compassion. Whether you have crps or heartbreak, whether you have cancer or PTSD. It is not fair to target people feeling fragile, whether you yourself are in pain or not.
Kindness and compassion and love are a practice that especially here, where people are already playing with the thought of taking the most drastic step known to humankind to end their pain, is incredibly important.
I understand that OP is in pain and suffering, but lashing out at others through two posts today, one invalidating a method and one invalidating a reason, is not okay. I don't think it lowers pain to lash out at other vulnerable people that, like her, came here for acceptance and understanding.

I think you really need to re-read and consider before you post.

I dont know why people do hangings when poisons are available. Ultimately what your cells will notice is that oxygen isnt getting to them.

I really do wonder if you could fake a nembutal by taking SN or cyanide plus a shitload of Xanax 10 minutes before to fall asleep fast.
