Thinking about buying a pack of razors for SH. I know people talk about nerve damage but can they even go deep enough for that?

Theoretically yes but it's unlikely. It would have to be a pretty deep cut and that's harder than it sounds.

They absolutely can. But for most people, the pain would instinctively make them stop and make it very difficult for them to cut that deep.

A year ago I hit my wrist with a knife and it cut to the fat. It was really painful and my thumb became numb. I thought that the numbness will disappear next day but oh well it didn't. Now when I rub the thumb I get this weird sensation on it. And the half of the thumb is more sensitive to cold things and pain. I still don't know if I hit the nerve or what. But I regret it because If something accidentally hits the spot on my wrist where the cut is I want to die from the pain. The pain is similar to hitting your "funny bone" on your elbow but it's more severe.

I am sorry you went through that. You might have nerve damage, but I am no doctor.

Thank you. I'm too scared to go to the doctor because I don't want to be judged and I also think that it's too late to save the nerve. Healthcare in my country is free but queues are long and I don't want to hear the doctor saying things like I hurt myself on purpose and I'm wasting their time or something like that. I once went to the ER to get my cut stichted and a nurse said to me : "You did stupid things, now you will suffer it" I think she meant that the stitching will hurt but it didn't so I don't know. So if you want to sh please be really careful
