  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

i'm currently writing my notes so that i am ready as soon as my SN arrives. it's something i've always done every time i attempt. i know there are mixed opinions on them, some say it makes it worse for the survivors, some want to get out their last words.

i've always done one short note for whoever finds the letter and then notes to everyone important in my life. i guess i don't really care whether they actually read it, it's more about just getting closure on my end

I went back and forth between writing a note and not writing one. In the end I decided on one short note, just 1 A5 page and included everyone in that note. I wish I had the energy to write one each to people I care about but I found writing one note hard enough. I agree with the closure, for me I just didn't want anyone to feel it was their fault and as long as I had expressed this in a note, I felt content.

at first I wasn't. but since there is no way to depart without hurting the ones that care about me, I figured I could at least try to provide some comfort. It will be short, tho. I respect those who chose to do different, but I don't want to explain my reasons, I don't think they would get it and it would probably make them suffer even more.

I didn't write an actual note but I wrote "I'm sorry I was weak" on my arm on my 2nd attempt with a pen. First attempt I was 14 and didn't even think about anything or anyone other than I just wanted to end it so I didn't even think about a note. This time when I finally do ctb I don't think I'll leave a note. I'm concerned I'll change my mind as I write it for some reason.

Yes I am planning to write notes to my loved ones. I would want them to know that it was not their fault and that there was nothing they could've done to change my mind.
Knowing my parents, they will sadly still blame themselves so it's not like my note will help but I can't CTB without leaving anything.

I think a brief note for loved ones is best, trying to relieve guilt and provide closure and maybe comfort.

I'm not sure yet. The first time I attempted writing, it was too long and there was too much I was putting down. The next one was fairly brief but it didn't cover everything at all. Sometimes I think about leaving one so others feel at peace, but then I doubt it and think they'd feel relieved about my passing anyway so why waste the time.

I will just send some short and probably delayed goodbye messages to a few people to inform that I finally did it, so they don't worry why I'm not being online.
