Neuralink had a livestream on youtube today. About the team at Neuralink and the progress of innovation they've achieved building a Brain Machine Interface (BMI).
My opinion is this technology will be the modern-day-foundation going forward and eventually a move away from chemical drugs. This is speculation and not anything that they really highlighted in the livestream. They're hoping for FDA approval in 2020. They did focus on future goals of fixing mental illness, brain diseases, defects such as tinnitus, and maybe someday hacking into the area of the brain to build visual scenery for the blind of the outside world. They're a long way away from these goals but this technology the N1 chip is going to be what's needed to eventually get on the path to these goals.
Anyway this livestream can be re-watched by going here:
The video starts at 1:44:33
I highly recommend watching and even if you have little to no understanding of the brain.
