I'm pretty sure I have PTSD from seeing something horrific in March (that is also the main reason I'm trying to CTB). It's gotten worse consistently from there and I'm having a serious panic attack right now. My chest is so tight I can barely breathe, my heart is beating out of my chest, and I'm having near-constant flashbacks. Does anyone have tips/resources/helplines? Anxiety meds unfortunately aren't an option. I really need some help right now

OMG I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I had a panic attack last week so I understand.

First I would suggest you lay down.
This is what I did.
Take your medication 1st if yoi have some.
Try to focus on something that was pleasant. If you can't play something on YouTube that's funny or peaceful
I just cried because my chest was about to pop out my body.
Look at the clock and know this should pass in about 5-10 min.
Try to focus on something positive and try to not think about any unpleasant thoughts!
You can do it. It will pass soon!!

Oh I'm so sorry about that, panic attacks are torturous. I wish I could give you some advice, but when the panic hits it's so hard to concentrate on anything else. I usually allocate all my attention towards my heart. How fast it's beating and how this is all temporary. I know it's scary when panic hits you. But it's also included in the "temporary" section. This too shall pass. 💙

I have PTSD but my symptoms are different. I know it's not the best consolation but, because I know what panic attacks are like (I've has 2), remind yourself it's a panic attack and it will pass. I know you said meds aren't an option but propranolol is good for the physical symptoms of anxiety without being strong like say benzos. Revisiting whatever happened to you with a therapist and/or phone centres is a good place to start. I'm sorry you're feeling this way ❤️
