For partial suspension, is there a picture somewhere that shows a good example of where exactly the rope should be placed around the neck? For the record, I'm a male. It's above the adam's apple, I know, but that's still kinda vague, like how should I angle the rope when I actually hang? Should I hang low from a doorknob or something or what? Should I extend my legs outward? The rope I will be using is a 5/8 double braided nylon rope. Is this the best choice? Last time I "practiced" at a hotel room, my throat/adam's apple felt so tight like I swallowed a huge hard candy, it felt so uncomfortable, but I didn't know the proper positioning at that time. I need a good picture, it will help a lot.

I don't think partial suspension is reliable. I did a few "trial runs" just to get a taste of what it would be like and every time it got too uncomfortable I ended up standing up before I blacked out.

I think full suspension is the only way to go if you are going hanging. I guess the problem is finding a secure anchor point that is high enough.

Everyone is different, a picture won't help and for some people it just won't work. I gave up on partial because even when I covered my whole neck with ligature and applied pressure I still wouldn't fall unconscious even after a minute. If you can get Sn I would recommend it. If you can't make your vision fade by pressing your carotid arteries above your adam's apple then it most likely won't work when actually hanging. Try sitting and flip your neck back so it's facing near the ceiling then feeling for your heartbeat on both sides of the neck above your adam's apple then press firmly against both for 10 seconds and if your vision doesn't fade I doubt it will work. Don't confuse jugular veins with carotid arterys if your hearing fades and/or your head feels like it's bulging you're most likely pressing your jugular veins.

I don't know if you have seen it yet but there's a guide to actually doing the hanging:
