nope i dropped that idea...will go with bag.. need to make it...i will
Can you tell me something please; when you set the flow from 15 to 20lpm how did it feel? Can describe please? How strong the stream of the gas it was? Was it cold? is 5lpm more a big difference?

I did a second trial today...with the same oxygen mask. This Time I set the flow at 20 LPM..

- I could breath smoothly this time as the flow was adequate..with 15 Lpm i felt the flow wasn't good enough

- 22 seconds and I had lightheadedness and dizzy.. the feeling was stronger than what I experienced last time

I still feel dizzy and a slight headach

What's my final exit strategy now..

Flow will be set at 20 Lpm
Will use the mask as well as the bag

Still Im amazed you didnt pass out earlier..!

how big is your tank, is it full, whats the pressure?

I have my flow meter now and I will too test my kit tonight - I don't have oxygen mask, I don't know how Im gonna do it precisely yet.
Maybe I will fill the bag and breath the gas from it without putting the bag over my head.

If you try it out with the bag, you better be ready to die, because this shit can go FAST.

@deathoverlife ,

If I may ask, why argon and not nitrogen or helium ?

Argon and flow meter is much cheaper cheaper than nitrogen.

Good point - that's why I will first fill the bag and and take one breath and see how my body reacts. I really don't know what to think, when deathoverlife
didnt faint after 20 seconds breathing pure nitrogen [with lower gas flow she was fine after a minute..]

in second trial I was about pass out in 22 sec that's when I pulled away the mask
I have seven cubic meter tank..whic is around 7000 liters of gas
you can get oxygen mask from any medical store...it won't be expensive either

@deathoverlife ,

I want to go with helium initially but the purity was a concern...
Nitrogen I wasn't confident of giving a reason for what I would use it for...argon was easier that way... thanks to @onewayroad for the guidance :)

It is argon and not nitrogen..
yes the first trial took a longer.. coz of the flow..but the second one was 22 sec

Because an oxygen mask is not suitable.

If I needed a mask it would be only to test how my body reacts
I will use bag without mask.
7000 liters? thats a lot! Its enough for good 5 hours.

7 hrs is what I was told...
why do you think am confident doing test runs ;p

btw do you have any idea as how many liters of gas is actually required to ctb successfully??

We should be on the other side within 20 min. That's why its so important to breath pure and only argon/hydrogen.
The pig from video I posted here few days ago fainted within 10 seconds breathing nitrogen and came back in seconds berating air again.
So the bag must be filled with gas only before you close it over your head and neck. You read the chapter 5 from the book, right?
So you clearly positive about technique.
Any accidental exposure to oxygen during the exit will make the whole thing longer with uncertain result.
You will be unconscious then so you wont be able control and correct it.

A small container of 2L@200bar would be enough to supply you with 15L/min for 26.6 minutes. Enough to kill you.

Even if some are is there in the bag... will it not be overpowered by the constant flow of argon??

how I will do it:
Put the bag on my head [seat over ears]
squeeze the air out of it,
open the gas valve,
fill it quickly with gas [watch the progress in the mirror]
when its full - pull the bag down my head
and close it tightly on my neck.

The constant gas pressure in the bag will not allow any new air into the bag: as long as the bag is air tight and it's tightened well on my neck
So if I can keep my bag O2 free for 20 minutes I will not fail.
I spend a lot of time finding proper bag - in terms of size and thickness]

I've written my thoughts on that elsewhere in another thread - simply compare the volume of your lungs (by blowing a party balloon) versus a sufficiently huge bag.

Its like 4 liters vs 100 liters. Based on my approximations, you don't need a constant flow if the bag is large enough. It will knock you out anyway and CO2 will not build up to cause any discomfort.

Its purely aesthetic reasons, I guess, since you've chosen the scuba mask?

yes.. @15 it took a while where as @20 the response time of my body was about 22 sec

The correct setup uses either a pressure regulator + an additional flow meter, or a regulator with integrated flow meter.
How else would you determine the correct flow of 15l/min?
What about a pressure reductor? Some cans come with it

Its clear medium duty bag: 18in x 24in, I tested it its airtight,
Some people succeeded using these thin trash bags, I wouldn't take a risk in any of these.
Have no idea what will happen with my body when I lose conscience: will I try to tear it off my face?
I want to be prepared for every bad scenario.

I will be using handcuffs in case, with the keys very close (in case of a fuck up).

One like this came with my tanks, but I couldn't figure out how to translate pressure into liters per minute.

You need some specific gas flow to tackle CO2 from your breath and keep the oxygen tfrom getting in for about 20 minutes.
To get it you need something between 15 and 20lpm. How they measured it - I don't know.
I didn't take a risk and I bought nitrogen specific flow meter.

Simple fuck ups, as in last second remembering i left the stove on etc haha. Its mostly to prevent unconscience bag removal :).
