My method, critiques welcome

This method came to me when I was like 17 and the idea has stuck with me. It is fairly inexpensive and very effective I think.

It's suffocation. You put a bag(s) over head, seal the bags with maybe a rope or gorilla tape and then quickly put your hands behind your back and bind with either handcuffs or zip ties.

It takes only 7 minutes without oxygen to completely die I read. So chances of being found and brought back are slim.

Not good with applying other methods, not good with buying ingredients as well. I don't mind a few seconds of suffering for this to all finally be over.

I don't suppose there's any way to practice but I've never understood how to quickly zip tie your hands behind your back.

I'd be skeptical of being able to accomplish that while the bag is over my head.

The good thing about this method is that you can abort and try again if you're not successful the first time.

I recommend depriving yourself of air for just a few seconds to get a preview. It might change your mind. Suffocation is very painful. Panic sets in as your lungs fight desperately for something that isn't there. Not fast enough, not peaceful.

I'm ok with a few minutes - or even months - if I ultimately die. But for reasons unbeknownst to me, this board is really big on dying peacefully (because we're so good at manifesting peace any other time...)

Try holding your breath. Eventually you're forced to take a breath right? You'll have that feeling of desperation and intense fear, where even if you want to ctb more than anything, you'll do everything and anything in your power to take a breath of fresh air. The response is more so of a reaction to CO2 buildup rather than a lack of O2. It will not be a few seconds until you pass out.

I am not reccomending to do this at all but here's my experience: I was practising to get over survival instinct by holding my nose shut until I pass out from a lack of oxygen. I tried and I think I got kind of far (like 1 minute in) but sadly it's just not that simple. When you have that feeling of desperation you can't even think anymore. You only do what you need to to live.

First problem to come mind is that bag would stick to face so this needs to be addressed. But isnt the bag suffocation little different than holding breath since in bag you can still breath?

Im using zipties. So I tie one completely around right hand with little breathe room. Then thread the other through the right one so they would be bound together and this time thread it just right through leaving lota of room for me to insert hand and tie once bag is over head

That method sounds unbearable to go through with and agonising because of the fact that we have the instinct to survive. But I guess that after all, if you are in a situation where you cannot pull the bag back over your head then this method will be successful, so this method is always a possibility, but it really does sound horrific. I wish you the best with your plans.

Chain and a lock?
Anyway this method is so brutal that even life is much better.

I cannot see what stops you from being able to breathe inside bags. If you inflate them before attaching to neck them you reinhale same air over and over again. But watch out as this method causes convulsions when unconscious so make sure bags dont come off.

Yeah that doesn't sound good.... hmm, though I had a solid method :(

It'd be a lot more than a few seconds... You'd be surprised with how long you can hold your breath before you pass out. Try dunking your head underwater and see how long you last and how painful it gets when you're desperate for air.

My claustrophobia would kick in about 4 seconds into this adventure. Even if I wasn't claustrophobic, I couldn't willingly choose such an uncomfortable way to go. But it's not about me. Should you choose this method, I wish you a safe and successful trip.

Just doesn't seem like it's worth it, man. Like, I guess I don't understand why you'd want to go in such a messed up way. I get the end result is death either way, but it's far from "effective".

Why worry about the cost expense? Any money you haven't spent in this lifetime will be left behind anyways. Isn't it better to spend some extra cash to get in a comfortable position?

You're essentially asking if it's "effective" to put in the unnecessary time, effort and resources into making you die in the most messed up way possible. It's like, no, obviously not. It's not "effective" to have your body wiggling around across the floor/surface. You'd most likely bump into things because you're fighting against a human instinct and it's a human instinct's to fight against whatever is killing the brain. You're also not going to die "quietly" from this method, which can alert other people to contact some kind of service. You also need to take into account that BECAUSE you're moving around / wiggling around, that the bags can come off. But now you're tied up on the floor/surface - how are you meant to put it back on your head at that point? And if you have some "back up method" of escaping, then wouldn't you just escape during the process because it's torture? etc. I could go on ages about why this isn't a good idea, but you get the point.

Like, I guess what we define as "effective" is different. Seems like so much would go wrong, and the chances of them going wrong is a high %. There's a reason why not a lot of people use this method.

I understand you maybe have some kind of hyperfixation with this method, but it just seems like a masochistic way to go, to get the bare minimum result. I wouldn't do it personally.

you'd have to be extremely precise in how you tape/tie the bag, and factor in what kind of bag. most fabrics are pretty breathable and most plastics are hard to create an effective seal on. others have already covered to excruciating part but i can offer a bit of personal insight.

i have breathing problems and i had a test done called a methacholine challenge. it's where you breathe in chemicals that almost completely restrict your breathing for five minutes to test your lungs. it was some of the worst moments of my life. i was gasping for air but couldn't get any, i was panicking and sweating and wanted to die or live or something. after the five minutes they gave my medicine to breathe again and it took hours to get back to a baseline. it was hell, and it was all done in a medical setting.

i hope you're able to find an alternative method.

Okay, I read the replies to this thread and even that this method is horrible and very painful, I don't have money to try any other method. Maybe everything goes like planned.

The way to go with a bag is using inert gas, which is completely peaceful, fast and painless.
