That's true. That's a pretty hefty ratio. The same neccessary amount of N will be used, but I might be concerned that your body can't process the entire amount of liquid, so the N enters your system too slowly.

@Lovemykids, could you make up the same sort of sugar syrup "cocktail" as they use at Dignitas? Sickly sweet, of course, but less dilute. Then chase it with whiskey to get the taste out of your mouth.

It seems the ideal is to have as little "flavoring" as possible, to avoid diluting the N, so a very powerful flavoring would be the best option.

I'm a big fan of real maple syrup --I could drink it neat, from the bottle! Maybe something like that? Karo would do the job, or any basic pancake syrup, but it'd be nice to have a pleasant flavor.

I have no idea if the science would back it up, but might the sugar accelerate the uptake of the N? I know it does with caffeine.

Happy to hear you managed to obtain your bottles. Was just curious as to why you went for 3 bottles? I ended up getting 2 though still fear if that's going to be enough even though it's the recommended amount.

2 bottles Is more than enough.

100 ml Nembutal contains 6.3 grams of sodium pentobarbital.
2X 6.3 grams = 12.6 grams

Dutch doctors providing euthanasia use just 9 grams with a 0% fail rate.
A German right-to-die organization reported 261 cases of people who used Nembutal (2 bottles) with, again, a fail rate of 0%

Can you confirm the taste is that bad that you feel you can't do it without diluting?

Obviously gag reflex would be an issue. You've previously stated that your gag reflex is relatively strong, if even with a strong gag reflex you'd not feel confident if tolerating the taste it's good for folk to know.

With regards to taste, then I have been considering the miracle fruit tablets you can get. They are supposed to make anything sour taste sweet and vice versa, they act on the tastebuds giving this temporary effect.

Now I have tried them and yes they did have an effect but no nothing like it says on the packet! You won't be licking a lemon thinking it tastes of caramel or anything, but it did dampen down the bitterness of everything I tried. My main concern is some unknown reaction between something in the berry and Nembutal...

Only thing worried is sometimes even when I take lot of alcohol within short period of time I feel nausea so just on the safe side planning to mix since I have 3 bottle

As I said the effect seems to be hit and miss as to how powerful it is for you, so worth trying first to see how you react to it on a day before the actual event. I'm going to see if I can get them in Peru myself as that's where I will be for the end.

Excuse my ignorance but was curious to know why diluting N makes the effects weaker? If you were to have a vodka and coke, even if you just had a splash of coke or a pint of coke the vodka is still the same strength, just more liquid to drink.
If it does break down the Ns strength would that mean it's not advisable to have a large drink after? I was thinking of chasing the N with a fruity cider or something n possibly a few drinks beforehand.

Yeah, but using the vodka/coke anology you get drunk much quicker from necking neat vodka in a huge gulp than you would from drinking them with a mixer. Obviously it's up to you.

As Chinaski alludes to, my understanding is that dilution effects uptake rate. All the N will be absorbed eventually, but it might not be absorbed at a rate that takes you past the lethal threshold, and you'll wake up in two days $700 poorer with a bunch of explaining to do.

I had a bit of a hindsight moment after posting that it would take longer to be absorbed and inturn risk not having the desired result however appreciate confirmation. While avoiding the taste would be beneficial I think the effect is more important!

Something I've always wondered is how long after ingestion does it take before someone were to pass out? I understand it varies, the PPH says "within minutes" but, as per usual, this is too vague. Obviously the longer the wait, the greater the opportunity for panic or survival instinct to set in.

I too have this fear, on the one hand I want to be able to get comfy and not just hit the deck after downing the drink but on the flip side don't want the mind to start racing and regrets to possibly sink in.

But that doesn't necessarily mean it'd be much quicker when absorbing the full dose, just that it would hit you harder. There's a significant difference between 2 minutes and, say, 6 minutes in these circumstances. Ten minutes is definitely too long.
