Other than English my main second language is French. I have other languages I'm working on but I wouldn't say I can really read or speak them so I only ticked English and French.

Finnish people are surprisingly common here but it's not really spoken. It's my native language and we are also taught Swedish but I can't really speak or understand it. I'm thinking about learning German.

Just curious if you were Swedish or Finnish :)
Are there any people in Sweden who learn Finnish? I only paid attention in Swedish because I thought it would be useful if I moved or worked there. From what I understand, Sweden don't have mandatory Finnish class, your economy is much stronger than ours, and there's no good reason for you to move here. We even have a saying of everything's better in Sweden.

No, we don't learn Finnish in Sweden. But we have a big Finnish minority and 2nd generation of Finns because of workers who came in the 60's and the 70's. And there are a little group of people in the north talking "mäenkieli".

The learning of Swedish doesn't have anything with economy or eventual future movements.
As you already know, but it might be helpful for other readers here. Finland is bilingual and Swedish is one of the official languages. In order to paying respect to each other the Swedish speaking minority are being taught Finnish. And the Finnish majority speakers are being taught Swedish. But many Finnish speakers dislikes being mandatory taught Swedish, because they thinks it's useless and doesn't see the point. So it's also negatively called "pakkoruotsi" by many in Finland which meaning "constraint Swedish".

But hey, everything isn't better here in Sweden. For example: The crime rate increases. The gangs are taking over and there are a lots of shootings and bombings nowadays. Finland is much safer.

The grade school kids in the neighborhood are teaching me Spanish. Or at least they are trying. Those girls have the patience of any number of saints. Lol

@psp3000 the initials in your screen name are my initials from birth (well, until I married anyway). Every time I see your screen name I do a doubletake. Lol

In the past I had a thread of now defunct or old suicide/pro choice sites after looking into ASH (inspired by their own archived sites/links and directory and I think it would be good to create an archives directory for historical and informational purposes for the users of this site and it may be comforting to some) but I deleted it due to paranoia and also worry that it would get into the wrong hands or people with bad intentions would view those sites and would probably track down and attempt to harass people
IF it/that is somehow possible as I believe some of these people are still alive/active not just from there but various other archived sites and groups also it was unfinished and quite unorganized and it only featured English and German links, websites, and blogs etc.

as of today I have a list of about maybe 30+ or less than or equal to 40 links (as in actual archived websites, blogs, newsgroups, and forums)
and when The Wayback Machine is back online hopefully by the end of the day or sometime tomorrow I can start looking for sites from different countries and languages (with the aid of my translator extension which is great because with the first list I had no idea there were extentions that could translate entire pages)

edit: that's just what I got from I believe 2 days and multiple hours of searching and going deeper and deeper into website and personal blog's personal directories and recommended links
