Venting Money is literally all that matters in life (vent about money part 2)

I absolutely HATE the concept of life, where everything is all about money. Having to slave majority of your life away for some piece of paper and/or numbers on your screen, whether it's for someone else or for your own business... Either way, you're working. Working to earn money to afford the basic necessities, because nothing is free. Nothing is free because people and businesses love money. Most people (if not everyone) cares about money more than each other, more than anybody in the world. I wish there were some other way to live life, but there isn't. It's the only way to live. Live to work, work to live.

We're all born just to make money. We're all just cogs in the machine subconsciously waiting for the inevitable day we'll eventually be free from it (whether we fear/dread death or not). And that day can't come soon enough for some people, especially nowadays.

I agree but you are only half right. I mean, you cant just expect that other people give their time and effort for free so that you can have a home, eat, have clothes and everything for free.

As The Verve once sang "Trying to make ends meet, you're a slave to money, then you die". Myself, I don't oppose the concept of money in general (pre-monetary societies relied on a barter economy where you couldn't obtain any goods or services unless you possessed goods or services that your trading partner needed, ie. the so-called "co-incidence of wants" problem), but what I do despise is the obsession with monetary wealth as the sole parameter of success by which all human beings are judged. You can be a complete amoral scumbag like Musk, Trump or Bezos and people will worship you and claim anyone who criticizes you is "jealous", yet if you quietly live out your life as a disabled person who cannot work and is reliant on welfare people will despise you as a "leech" and a "lazy scrounger" who should "get a job" even if you are simply not capable of it. This society is disgusting.

I understand and am well aware of that. However, what I meant was that I just wish that money wasn't involved in everything in life and us having to work majority of our lives just to get the basic necessities to survive and such, and having to deal with inflation on top of that.

I agree and it makes me sick that people have to sometimes work 50 plus hours a week just to survive or you have to be upper middle class to afford a house in my area

Money makes the world go round. Money, or lack of it, is my major reason for stress. A month unemployed now and my severance plus tax refund is almost gone.
