Haven't seen anyone suggest this but sorry if it's already been brought up.
So, I recently bought some extra strength Orajel for tooth pain (aka benzocaine). It's basically just a numbing agent, but I've found that if you apply it to the tongue it does a pretty good job of numbing your tastebuds, much more powerful than mouthwash which I've seen some people suggest. I tested it with regular salt water and while it didn't completely get rid of the taste I was kinda shocked with how much it helped. It was still slightly salty/unpleasant, but wayyyyyy more palatable than without the gel.
100% gonna be using this when the time finally comes.
