I'm torn on this... because... A manipulative person could easily take advantage of a vulnerable person, push them over the edge, and kill them. Maybe the person wanted suicide, maybe the person agreed to it... but the person doing the killing is typically doing it for profit, and perhaps even some kind of perverse thrill at killing.
I feel like it is easier to champion suicide, i.e. taking your own life for WHATEVER reason... and champion medically assisted suicide. I know the laws are imperfect at best and obstruct a lot of people who wish to die.
But I worry about sadistic people and greedy people who will take advantage of people who might otherwise not have killed themselves. We have people on this forum who came here to research how to do it, only to change their minds over time. If random dude could just go around killing people because someone asked, I feel like that's dangerous.
