a lot of people suggest lying in bed when using sn, or plan to do it that way themselves.

but realistically, you're guaranteed to throw up when taking sn. antiemetics only delay that so your body has more time to absorb it before you vomit. they don't stop it completely.

so lying in bed like you're about to drift off peacefully, only to end up vomiting all over yourself and your bed.. doesn't that seem kind of awful? yeah, death is the end goal, but i think most of us still want to avoid making the experience more unpleasant than it has to be.

and its not like you'd have time to get up and make it to the bathroom or anywhere else. by then you'd probably be dizzy, disoriented, maybe already halfway unconscious, too weak to even stand properly.

personally when i do it, i plan to sit on the edge of my bed. that way if i feel like throwing up, i can try to make it to the bathroom, or at the very least puke on the floor instead of the bed. and once i feel myself fading i'll just let myself fall back onto the bed.

curious to hear what others think. anyone else thought about this part of the process?

I'd probably prop myself up with a pillow whilst lying on the bed, with a basin or bucket beside me on the bed or placed on the floor beside the bed. If the suggested protocol has been followed there probably won't be much to bring up, just the SN itself. I'd be apprehensive about sitting on the edge of the bed in case I weakened or passed out and fell down onto the floor, injuring myself or breaking my nose or something. Wouldn't matter if I succeeded in ctb, but wouldn't half piss me off if I survived.

As someone who has partied too hard with alcohol and has tried to sleep it off, you can do it. Just keep a trash can next to your bed. I usually place it near where my head is so I can just roll over a bit and puke, then shuffle back onto my pillow when I am done. I also am sure to always lay on my side.

I have heard a few accounts where people do not really lay down until they start feeling very sleepy. At this point you are past any nausea you will experience while still awake.

wasn't aware of that one, if thats true then awesome but i'll still stick to my original plan just to be safe, maybe i'll actually get into comfortable sleeping position once i enter the sleepy state and not feel nauseous anymore like you mentioned

I'll personally have a vomit bag nearby because I sleep on a bunk bed and I want to minimize movement as much as possible.

When I go I'm putting a trash can next to my bed , the chances of puking are high so even if I somehow puke on myself it doesn't matter. Someone will eventually clean you up and eventually they'll strip your corpse and do a autopsy.
As soon as I attempt I stop thinking if myself as a person and start thinking of myself as a corpse , it makes it a whole lot easier to end things.

From what I gather, you eventually feel overwhelmingly tired. I think most people lay down in bed because they just can not stay conscious.

thats scary, i guess i should just leave a note explaining how and why i died and specifically requesting them to not do anything to my corpse so they don't have to find out by doing all that

I've watched a handful of videos made by people doing this now and most didn't vomit. If you fast long enough and take the AEs, there's a reasonable chance. And if you do vomit it should just be the SN and water - there's nothing else there.

I wouldn't overthink it too much. Given how many times I have vomited in my sleep when I drank too much and not even realised until the next morning, I'm pretty confident even if I did vomit the SN, I wouldn't have the mental capacity to realise it happened.

I was a mortician, they will strip you and everything. They might not open you up but it's stand procedure to look at the body without clothing to make sure there was no foul play .

I plan to lay down thick plastic sheeting on the bed and the floor and, to have a bucket near by. Corpses I would imagine excreet all sorts of nasty fluids. I plan to wear an adult diaper too. I don't imagine dying is always a clean affair.

I think it's extremely unwise to get up and start wandering about after taking SN. I remember a member posting here after they failed their attempt that they passed out in the bathroom and cracked their head on something- the floor, the sink, the bath- not sure. The injuries they sustained from the fall seemed worse than the attempt itself. I think it's very unwise to risk that.

The thing that does concern me is vomiting too much up while I'm unconscious. That could happen anywhere though. In bed, on the bathroom floor. That's a major concern of mine.

I'm planning to do the sn thing on a mattress in a tent in my garden on a sunny day so no one will disturb me but the last things I see will be sun, plants, birds, insects etc. I'll take a big bath towel in there and vomit into that. It'll be fine. I'm not one to vomit much generally but I've tried and I can't do the starving for sn protocol so I'm gonna risk it and eat before anyway.

I guess that makes all morticians everywhere in the world both of those things. It's just standard procedure.

Don't know where you are, however in the UK any "sudden death" requires a PM and a Coroner's Inquest or a Fatal Accident Inquiry to establish the cause of death, I'd have thought similar procedures would have been in place throughout the western world.
Age would have no bearing on the legal process.

It doesn't really matter. You won't be around to care. You'll be fine and at peace. The world's rules and regulations, Islamic rules and regulations don't matter anymore.

I wouldn't want an autopsy either, but it's what's required in cases of homicide, suicide, workplace accidents, etc. This held me back. But I came to the conclusion that, who knows, maybe one day we'll die unexpectedly, or a flowerpot will accidentally fall on me while I'm walking down the street. That would also require autopsy. So I'm moving forward with my CTB; that fear doesn't hold me back
