Hi all- I finally got an account created here, have been lurking for the past year or so.

I'm prepping for my final day and had some questions/wanted to know your opinion on some things.

First- I've decided to go via hanging. Since I don't wish to be found right away, I thought to go to some woods to do this. This will need to be done during the day time since leaving at night is not an option. My main concern is being discovered by hikers- but my goal is to go off path as far as possible and find a good tree..how risky do you think this is? Will likely do full suspension, climb up tree a bit, secure rope, and push off.

I would only have an hour or so alone at home max and have no good anchor spots, so I don't think that's very viable.

I looked into SN but can't find a reliable source, so will skip that I guess.

I attempted once before partial awhile back but my SI got the best of me, but this time I think that won't be an issue.

Anyways, thank you to this great community for all the resources, it truly is a wonderful place.

So, you're going to do a "drop" hang off the branch? Better make sure the rope you use can handle that. Branch too. That's not the same as kicking a chair out from under you.

I have no idea about you being discovered by hikers. Someone other than you couldn't know that as we have no idea of your locale, woods you'll be using, how frequented it is, etc. Guess there's always a chance. It's probably a low chance if you go deep into the woods, well off any normally traveled pathways, but I have no idea, really.

Have you been to the place? Maybe it could be helpful to first see if it's frequented by many people or not (hikers or cyclists). And explore the trees.

Go into your forest, find your tree and leave something of value there clearly visible. If it is still there in a few days the probability that nobody will disturb you is very high.

I was in the same situation and left a brand new and expensive ladder near my tree.

God I wish I had a car so that I could drive myself somewhere remote. I don't want to traumatize my friends. I care about them. They have kept me going in my darkest times.

Sorry for you pain. And thanks for your kindness to hikers by going deep in the woods. Can you pre-hike your trail to find a suitable tree? I think it might take a while to find one with branches that are sturdy enough and at the right height, a scouring trip might help there
