I got a little miffed earlier at some similar lines of questioning on the SN megathread but I had to remember how I was when I first came on here. Insecure, frightened, maybe a little desperate. I also asked a couple of stupid questions about mixing SN with Gatorade or koolaid or fruit juice (do not mix with those drinks - small amount of water only). Now that I took a forum break, I am striving to be a little more patient when I choose to reply to new but repetitive questions. I try to answer questions from newbies to be helpful and to stop further worries and even more questions.Of course it's terrifying, and it should well be. But quite frankly looking at the SN megathread, 90% or more is an absolute waste of space. And a new thread about SN is started everyday with the same questions. Can I hurt myself trying to end my life? Seriously??? You are not booking yourself in for a spa day. Rant over
I have noticed a lot of the confusion seems to be around the anti-emetic protocols and the effectiveness of SN itself or what happens with unsuccessful attempts. The PPH leaves some gray areas that contribute to the confusion.
If done in adequate amount, ingested properly, and being undisturbed, SN works. No doubt. With or without anti-emetics from what I have read.
I support stopping the SN megathread and editing the info into a FAQ with appropriate links. Probably wouldn't end questions or new threads about SN but could be easier to refer newbies to that resource.
If you have a 100g bottle why not just take it with you? If you choose to take a smaller amount then yes, if you transfer contents to a smaller airtight container and the lid is secured well, then I wouldn't see any reason to worry. I would bring more than 15 g just to be safe.If i open the original bottle and measure out 15g of the SN and put it into a little jar and close it really tight would it be ok or will the exposure to air turn it into nitrate? I wanna be able to easily take it with me to travel into the wilderness.
