Do people dying on N or SN get a life review and feel feelings of love or is it just deep unconsciousness?

Wow, that's an amazing question I don't have an answer to.. but, purely speculating here, SN acts by the formation of methemoglobin, meaning that O2 is reduced in the blood, meaning that the brain is slowly starved of oxygen. As far as I know, SN does not affect brain chemistry directly, but only acts through this particular mechanism of oxygen deprivation of brain and body. In that scenario, I would assume that you CAN get the release of DMT and all the other chemicals that lead to NDEs and the associated feelings described. (NDE are not reliably triggered, we cannot know how many people experience death as pleasurable or peaceful.)
With N I'm very unsure, it causes death by respiratory depression which also leads to oxygen deprivation of the brain. BUT N is also a known CNS depressant, used to induce sleep in for example anesthesia. As fas as I can gage from online sources, dreams have not been reported with pentobarbital anesthesia. So it is possible that with N you are just 'out'.

With N when used to put people under everything I have read is the patients had no memory of anything at all. If I am wrong I apologize, but is is my understanding that once you go out, it is like flipping a switch. Everything just turns off.

I remember Philip nitschke telling people that you experience some kind of euphoric experience at the end

Interesting, for both methods? Or is that for N or SN? Do you have a source? I'd like to look that up, would be kinda awesome to know and might help people that are more prone to anxiety, to know that you'll be elated rather than freaking out.

EDIT: I'm sorry @Lotus1818 if that came of like I'm doubting you, I just reread my reply. I'm a scientist at heart and I am genuinely interested. Up to my ears in papers on experiences with pentobarbital at the moment, this question is really fascinating.

If you believe in a soul and after life, and read a lot about it, it says every soul gets a life review, and feels immense love on the other side, no matter which way they die. If you are asking if people start to feel those things as they are dying that is highly individualistic. None of us would know that unless someone failed a CBT and could report it. Overall, I think MOST people who get very sick, or go into a coma, or have life threatening injuries and need surgery, etc DON'T experience a near death phenomenon, but it doesnt mean that they won't once they are actually dead and making the transition. I think most people will just feel like they are going unconcious, and if you are lucky enough to keep the SN/N down and begin to die for real, then once you pass that line and theres no coming back then thats unknown territory for all of us.

No it's fine dude.

I can't find the exact part of the video. I watched like all of his video videos in one go yesterday. But this video is pretty important because he explains how the SN works. And how a peaceful death works.

Basically if you deprive your brain of oxygen you get a peaceful death. SN does this because it deprives the body of oxygen. So also your brain.

And people experience a euphoric effect when the brain doesn't receive enough oxygen. It's the same with the whole chocking game. People want that euphoric high so they deprive the brain of oxygen.

Quickly using Google i found this article.

So I can't say it's 100% sure you will experience euphoria. But if I read and listen to how sn and the brain works. It sure sounds like it's a possibility.
