Im thinking of driving to forest hill bridge tomorrow in auburn ca, and getting really drunk then jumping off, im scared of jumping though and the fall before hitting the ground, any tips for reducing SI

walk backwards, walk forward or backward with your eyes closed, take lots of benzos or alc, count to 5 but jump on 3, etc... however SI with jumping is strong. Benzos are ur best option.

theyre not otc, so blackmarket, illicit markets on fb (they do exist, but they use coding), telegram, on the streets from a dealer, from a friend doctor/pharmacist, but the easiest method is to go to primary care doc (or a shrink) and tell him you are going thru a lot of stress in life / have panic attacks or short term insomnia. Theyre addictive, so not everyone will happily prescribe, but i guess 80% of doctors should presc 1 pack of diazepam / clonazepam or mb alprazolam (last one is less likely bc its the infamous xanax).

Not too hard to get them, just use doctor shopping. Dont try them if u get 1 pack, bc to dull SI ull need like half of the pack minimum. Need to calculate the jump when ur highly intoxicated but not passed out (they WILL make u pass out before u even know it!).

Jumping is hard. Maybe drink enough alcohol to get a buzz on, then try dancing or standing on one leg on the parapet, if there is one. Just generally carry on around the edge, with any luck you'll lose your balance or trip and ctb without having to actually nerve yourself up to jump.
SI is a real bugger, best wishes whatever your final decisiin.

I'm planning the same thing. Foresthill bridge either after sunset or sunrise. Going to have benzos and alcohol. Once I get there I'll climb under the bridge until I get to the middle. Set up backpack, drink etc. Spend a couple hours drinking, about an hour before I plan on jumping I'll take benzos. After intoxicated to the level I want, stand up back to edge, eyes closed and fall back. Hopefully beating SI

There is likely going to be more than average number of folks on that bridge for their project FYI. May make it more risky to try and end up getting 'rescued' by someone. It does have a 6ft6in suicide barrier already as well, would definitely need a ladder to get over it and being able to stop, pop up a ladder without somone stopping you may prove difficult.

Inspection Project:

"This is a non-destructive inspection that really is a quality assurance measure," said Placer County Department of Public Works Deputy Director Matt Randall. "Foresthill Bridge is safe and will remain open during the process."

During the inspection, a contractor will use an under-bridge inspection truck – sometimes known as a "snooper truck" -- or temporary scaffolding to access the 282 butt-weld locations, remove paint and perform the ultrasonic testing.

Data from the inspection will be provided to the Caltrans Material Engineering and Testing Services Division for quality assurance analysis.

Testing results will include acceptance or rejection of welds, and a final report will be submitted to Caltrans. Repairs, if necessary, could be made as simply as drilling holes in the vicinity of a deficient portion of a weld, or could require the preparation of a construction plan for a connection retrofit, which would be prepared under a separate competitive construction bid.

Inspection work is slated to begin later this summer, and continue through Spring of 2025.

the 2 best things ive done in the moment for reducing SI are a) getting really drunk or high, and b) doing it quickly without giving yourself any time to think. the more you wait, and the more you think, the less likely you are to go through with it

Literally in every case I've seen of people attempting via jumping & survived said that the second after they jumped they regretted it & that they suffered for what seemed like an eternity. I can't personally do something like that.

I have also seen this about jump survival stories.
My wild hunch though: when it comes to other methods of suicide failures, I often see people (on here especially) express regret that they survived, or anger that they survived and they end up attempting again or planning differently. This is in no way based on like, scientific study just a thought I often have.. I think that the "jump and then regret it" could play a small role in surviving??
When you know you are about to get punched in the gut you tense up, you cover your body you brace for the impact. If you are relaxed (as relaxed as one could be I suppose at like what 60mph?) I think the shock of the sudden impact would more easily cause fatal internal trauma. If you don't curl into a ball and try to protect your head with your arms, the impact would probably more easily break your neck.
