I've started cutting myself recently in the past few weeks. It started mostly on my hands and legs, but I've uprgaded to my wrists. I don't know why, but whenever I get the feelings of self-hatred, cutting myself just gives me clarity. It's like I can think clearer after hurting myself. I really don't like that I do this and people have started to notice and comment on it, but I can't stop doing it. I feel like I deserve to feel pain. I don't know why I'm even posting here honestly; there's probably nothing I can get out of it.

Self harm can give you dopamine which can help clear your mind , same goes for many other addictions.

It is an ugly place in life to be when harming oneself brings peace. I have been there several times. Be use to do appropriate aftercare and keep your blades sharp. Look at the thread below if you have not yet:

I just relapsed yesterday after a year clean (before that I was 6 years clean). It becomes an addiction for sure. As the person said above, appropriate aftercare and using sharp, clean blades is important. You don't want to have to deal with any infection. I'm sorry you're dealing with this. 🫂
