is it too suspicious to buy a rope?

it should be delivered tomorrow and i think i won't be at home, is it too suspicious? i'm 21 i can just lie but i think the person i live with could talk about it but i doubt, why would you? i mean her son is married to my auntie and he visits his mom often. i don't just i'm just paranoid

Will they open the package? Is this from Amazon or something? Usually they come in a box or bag so nobody will know unless they actually open it....

Or you could just say you wanted to use it as a clothesline to dry laundry or something - say you have some delicate shirts/clothes that can't go in the dryer maybe?

Can you just make an excuse like it's for a clothesline to quickly dry things, or to tie up cargo or something? Or tell them it's a jump rope and you want to start exercising?

Do you have a car? Tell them it's to tie stuff down in the back. I don't know, I need more hints about your what I'm working with here.

Is the person you're living with usually nosey? If not, you're fine and you can always mention it's none of their business on what you buy personally.

I found myself accepting packages for housemates and never questioning what they ordered. I just make sure porch pirates don't get to it.

i bought a safe to my door in case the airbnb door doesn't lock (english is not my first language idk what's it called. but she didn't say anything, i'm just afraid because even though i never attempted before my family would find it weird, specially my mom

I think you should be fine. Unless your family tends to go into your room (I am not sure of your family situation/relationship) you should some privacy to put things away. Not the same but when I was younger I did some things in between my clothes (I did my own laundry) and I do not believe my parents ever found it.

I mean it is suspicious. Why would you be ordering a rope? I was worried when I bought one but no one asks. It's not hanging is really that common.

If i were to order rope i would be asking the same. I wouldn't want my family to open up the package and get intercepted.

It is easily my biggest fear when trying this method. Glad to see you got it safe though.
