In an effort to do whatever I can to heal my broken mind, I have agreed to look into residential/inpatient treatment centers. Of course, there's the possibility I won't be alive long enough to get to one- I almost ctb'ed this week. Anyways, if any of you have been to a treatment center that provides treatment for depression/ptsd/suicidal thoughts/anxiety, I would love to hear about it. I've been to one trauma focused center already but it seems difficult to find one that is not substance abuse focused or repeating treatment modalities I've already done numerous times.

I recommend private outpatient facilities, they are a bit pricey, but offer CBT/DBT and have social workers that actually cared about ya, and not see you as their paycheck. Inpatient facilities vary depending on where you go, my experience on them has been nightmarish. I rather kill myself than go back or forcibly admitted to one. If you're female, expect to be harassed, stalked, and possibly raped. If you're a man, expect to get picked on by other men, and beaten up. Staff can't intervene due to no-contact with patients rule, but staff will intervene if you hit one of them. American mental health is the pits.

Thankfully after two years of dealing with the Army and the VA's overworked and dangerous mental health treatment, I have a great therapist who I've been working with for about 1.5 years.

I've been hospitalized 7 times for suicidal crisis or suicide attempts. I REFUSE to go back to the hospital under a crisis intervention because it's pointless. Shove me in a room of four white walls with nothing to do, no help besides more medication, and nobody who gives a shit... it's pointless. Yeah it keeps me safe for a short period of time but then here I am, suicidal and miserable, once again.

I did an inpatient 4 week PTSD program that was good- not great, but not horrible- and it did help but I have read a lot of horror stories out there so it makes me really nervous to go to any of them.

Sometimes I think I need Dr. Phil :ahhha:

I'm really considering going back to the fist inpatient psych hospital I was in after the first of the year... my new Ins kicks in then and I figure I'll give it one final try. I don't know what else to do at this point and I'm in so much mental pain at this point that I would welcome being a little more doped up for a bit.

Does that mean you will never be restrained unless you attack staff?

Saw a dude full on attack another guy, and staff had to use verbal therapy to calm him down while he was beating down on the guy. But if you slap or smack a staff member, 2-3 much bigger guys will tackle you and give you a needle in the ass that'll make you go night night for a few hours.
