Help I'm confused about prepaid cards for online purchases

I see that many people say to use a prepaid card for online CTB purchases which is a great idea. However, I am a bit confused. Isn't the point not being able to be trackable? Someone here mentioned VISA but in order to get one don't you have to put in your personal information? and to be able to transfer money to the actual card from your bank account?

I know transferring cash is different but if they can still track our personal details, I'm not understanding the point?

I looked at some non trackable ones, some of them require crypto currency and all that. I do not want to get into all that nor do I have the mental capacity to.

If anyone knows of any good ones.

Edit: I think the answer is that it's just less traceable rather than "untraceable"

It all depends on how you're using the card. Is it a prepaid card, where you load the money yourself, or if it's a prepaid gift card? Big difference in the two.

But if it's still a prepaid giftcard, you still have to somehow pay for it linking the cards to yourself

True. The only way I see around it is to pay cash for the gift card in store. But if you're using it to purchase something online your shipping info and such would defeat the purpose.

I'm thinking at the very least, fake name on the prepaid card and use cash to reload it at an ATM? Or do they even require a name?
