I want so badly to CTB but at the same time there is a glimmer of hope in me. So I want to order SN just in case, but there's a problem: what if I want to throw it away? I would have to order 200g and that's quite a lot to throw to the garbage or down the drain. I don't think there are places for toxic residues where I live. I would have to call a specialized company to pick it up, and they would ask questions..... What do I do?
Even though taking it to some disposal site would be the most correct way of doing so, throwing it down the drain is not that bad as it may seem.
It's not an advice, just my raw calculations so take them with a grain of salt:
Typical household water consumption starts from around 100 liters per person/per day.
Dissolving your 200 grams would total in a concentration of 2mg/l which falls within generally accepted level of nitrites content (1-5mg/l).
And in terms of sewers... well it's pretty much nothing. And I'm not taking into account all the purification systems and "nitrite=>nitrate" conversion.
But if you have the thought that you might impulsively throw it away instead of letting it just sit somewhere in your drawer, maybe it's worth thinking twice about whether it might lead to an impulsive decision to take it?
Impulsivity is not the best way of doing things.
Though I understand how comforting it could be having a way out by hand.
