Maybe that's sort of a strectch. She does not know it is a suicide forum yet. But she wanted to learn about me. And I told her I try to accumulate knowledge even if I am not particular good at it. And I share my opinions on an internet mental health forum. I told her there are sections where one can talk about suicidality, recovery and off-topic. And I spend much time in off-topic. (My last therapist knew it is a suicide forum. Not sure whether I will tell her that).
She likes politics and history just like me. (but she is an old woman). I help her to bypass paywalls of newspapers. Lol.
I told her it is an international forum with many Americans. And that I debated Trump supporters and conspiracy theorists. She was surprised. She told me by her experience Americans (especially Trump supporters) are pissed if a German shares their opinion on US politics. I told her this is not my experience. I am not sure whether she ever visited the US.
Tbh it seems like people are more civilized on Sanctioned Suicide than in real life which seems to be plausible for me. There is a lot of compassion on here. And I was friend with a die hard Trump supporter on here. I wonder what happened to him. He just stopped posting. I think often about him.
I think she was impressed by what I described. It is a good outlet to share my thoughts. But I did not mention details about the suicide section. And I probably won't. She also told me she would find it fascinating to communicate with Chinese people. And I told her I have done that in this forum. And that an American communist reported a Chinese because they posted memes of Xi to the communist party. I can still remember it vividly it was such a drama.
