I had my doctor send a prescription for me to pick up, I don't know why he chose to prescribe it before he got some tests back but it turns out it's a proton pump inhibitor.

Do that before anything else.
It could be lower than 95% in that case if it doesn't dissolve and you could experience more pain than you have to and possibly not even die (or a very slow death).

Why would it being slow to dissolve = lower purity?
Maybe you've added more than you need for 50ml of water - have you measured 50ml of water or guessed that too?
A lot of variables in there.
