If your doing full suspension hanging there isn't any possible way you could " get down" and undo the noose. You shouldn't be standing on anything.

I'm doing it on a window rail because it can hold my weight and If SI kicks in I can just get down and undo my noose or step on the rail

If the pain is the only reason to step back, you could use a thicker rope. It it is the fear of death, you should have no possibility to step back.

I believe that if you shoot yourself in the head while in the chair you should lose consciousness immediately. And if the shot doesn't kill you, the now painless complete suspension certainly will.

considering everyone has access to a gun, which isn't the case, you still have to factor in those things :
1. what if the shot doesn't render you unconscious ? well that is worse cuz now you will have to endure the pain of the bullet and the noose at the same time
2. what if the shot hits your head, doesn't render you unconscious, cuts the rope, and you're left in agony for who knows how long ?

with this in mind, wouldn't going for a shot directly be the simpler and safer option, yet we still know that the SI that arises when holding a gun is as bad if not worse than the SI that arises during hanging or any other method

All statistics, but also videos are against your hypothesis. The string won't be cut if you shoot in the mouth. I don't believe in the survival instinct, because if it existed, suicide wouldn't exist. I believe there is only fear and people are afraid even of a life-saving surgery. It's paradoxical, isn't it? However, in countries where guns are easily accessible, gun use ranks first in suicide. This is because you don't have to think about it too much, it's the long waiting time that makes the suicidal person restless. In countries where weapons are difficult to find, the first method of suicide is hanging. The speed of suicide always wins in statistics. From suicide by jumping onto a moving train, to suicide by jumping from great heights. But where the weapon is accessible, that is chosen.

There are some really good guides about hanging on here. I might suggest reading the megathreads (both stickied and non-stickied) to get a better understanding. You can also utilize the search feature to find some results to help with your resarch once that is unlocked for you if it isn't already.

With full suspension, the feet should not be touching or be able to touch the floor or something else. When done properly, it is a very effective method. Without being able to touch the floor and not being found in a relatively small window of time proves to be very effective. In fact when done right passing out from compression of the carotid happens in 10-20 seconds so there shouldn't be very much time at all to get out of it even if something happened to be nearby to step on (although there shouldn't be anything to jump up on like a ladder and the feet should not be able to touch the ground even if the rope stretches or when the knots tighten creating more slack). I am unsure how you are able to undo or get out of the knot if you are hanging fully, it would sinch and tighten around the neck too much to be able to just undo the knot somehow unless maybe it is the wrong type of knot. Use the megathreads for tips on the right type of rope, right type of knots, and all that.

I am so sorry things so painful and difficult and hope you find everything you are looking for and get peace & serenity with whatever you decide.

I would like to know this too. I have tried twice but started to get scared and didn't fully commit to it. I think I'm just too much of a wimp to go through with it.

Fear, especially the fear of the process of dying und the fear of the state of being dead as well as the fear to miss something in this world are aspects of the survival instinct. The desire to die and the suurvival instinct are opposite forces, the stronger one wins.

when i attempted i wasnt encountering pain, the issue i was having was that even though i hyperventilated and swallowed before-hand, the second i would go down i would have a strong urge to swallow or breathe. like instantly. i think its a panic response to the pressure, because you dont need to breathe after two seconds. so i was scared to step off and do full suspension cus i was worried my last moments would be trying to breathe and swallow (which would obviously hurt if your neck is constricted).

Benzos and alcohol might be the way to go.

Someone in my country injected insulin, swalloled a lot of benzos, and then (i imagine was on the verge of passing out by that point ) hung himself.
