How do you know when you really , truly want to die, or when you just want the pain to stop? Is there even a difference?

I honestly hate this narrative about wanting the pain to stop and not really wanting to die. That is the erroneous disposition my doctors make. I survived one attempt and I will do it for real soon because I want to die. There is nothing here that I wantMost suicidal ppl if not all don't want to die but just want the pain to stop. Suicide solves all problems but for most of us its mentally very hard to do the act. This is why those who successfully suicide are the brave ones.
Maybe that is the case for you and few others but for most they only want the pain to stop.I honestly hate this narrative about wanting the pain to stop and not really wanting to die. Prove itMaybe that is the case for you and few others but for most they only want the pain to stop.
I think it's something you ask your self. How do you know when you really , truly want to die, or when you just want the pain to stop? Is there even a difference?
Have you not heard the saying that people who suicide are same as ppl who jump from a burning building?Prove it
That implies the lesser of two evils, but it's not always absolute like that. i didn't consent to be being born and I don't consent to life.Have you not heard the saying that people who suicide are same as ppl who jump from a burning building?
You probably wont ask a question like this if your truly ready to ctb.....How do you know when you really , truly want to die, or when you just want the pain to stop? Is there even a difference?
I think there's a difference. For me it's when I have been attacked from every direction. It seems like they won't stop til I die anyway. I don't enjoy suffering. How do you know when you really , truly want to die, or when you just want the pain to stop? Is there even a difference?
I honestly agree. If you were filthy rich and you can buy everything you want and do everything you want. If you were in a position of power that you can make people whatever you want for you, you could easily get young and attractive women, or men, etc. Then I think you would want to live forever. I remember reading about a Chinese emperor who wanted to have an eternal life but actually died rather young.I don't really want to die, just stop the pain. I find myself envying random people even if they are seemingly average with crap jobs. I'm ill and my body feels like a prison. But give me a healthy body and I'd be fine living. Plenty of interesting things to do in the world.
I doubt many people are truly completely sick of life, only their circumstances. Are you telling me you most people on here wouldn't swap lives/bodies/minds with some rich celebrity (getting rid of physical/mental illness in the process)?
I mean we live in this amazing time with easy global travel, instant access to anything you want to read, etc. It's not like we're living in the paleolithic bashing rocks together all day long. I find it really unfortunate that I am driven to CTB while living in this age.
I would venture only maybe the very elderly are legitimately world weary. My grandfather had a DNR order put in place but he was mid 90s. Even he might have taken more years of life if he could somehow get a young healthy body.
Personally, no I wouldn't want to swap places with some rich celebrity. I know I'm probably a minority in this respect but I reckon there's a few here like me.I don't really want to die, just stop the pain. I find myself envying random people even if they are seemingly average with crap jobs. I'm ill and my body feels like a prison. But give me a healthy body and I'd be fine living. Money only buys happiness to a certain extent. You'd no longer have to worry about the day to day living costs, but every other issue is still there. Idk what most people would say about 'getting young and attractive women, or men etc.', but as an aromantic asexual that's the last thing I'd be thinking of lmao.I honestly agree. Would a person like Donald Trump want to kill himself? I think he is the type of person who would want to live forever if it was possible.
