I'm confused about how you get the stick to stay in place so that it doesn't unravel

do you just twist the stick and then stick it behind your shoulder?

Your shoulder or your jaw should prevent it from unraveling.
It would be better if you turn your body sideways and lean on the stick (when you're lying down in bed).
The longer the stick, the harder it is to unravel.

This (tourniquet) all sounds nice in theory.
In practice, I would like to see a person under 70 whose SI wouldn't kick in like a hurricane and whose neck is so thin for this method to actually work.

I can make myself nearly pass out by just wrapping something round my neck and pulling but just before I pass out my arms get weak and I let go. I've not tried the tourniquet method.

I can't speak for all cases, but I tried and failed, and I passed out pretty quickly. I am pretty sure there was no screaming. I'm not sure it is even possible to really scream when you have a rope tightening around your throat. However, if your body falls on the floor because the rope breaks (or the support can't hold you, or any other reason), it might make a pretty loud thud, which might alert someone if you live in an apartment. Not everyone would pay attention to that, though, and if you're live in a house it is unlikely anyone would hear anything that goes on inside.
What thickness did you used? Do you think 5mm rope with padding is good?

How painful was it before you passed out?

Wow, looks so easy, I always thought the night night method required too many items. Nice to hear it can work like this. It will be my back up as well.
night night is far too insecure for me.
But please be more than careful when testing with the tourniquet. If at all possible only in pairs

Have you already tried it yourself or are you just passing out silly chatter without basics? I always only write what I know for sure, not what I believe.

I'm 52, under 70 and can confirm that it also works in practice.
If someone really wants to die, then the SI doesn't matter, it is turned off.
If someone thinks that they should die, but actually doesn't want to, then the SI steps in.

The tourniquet certainly needs less overcoming than a full hanging because it is more comfortable. But like any method, you have to deal with it beforehand, make clarifications and practice a little.

In theory, you can also use a shoelace. I am using a 10 mm rope.

Any thicker the rope and rod, the faster the method works because the snare will get tighter faster. I would only use a 5 mm rope if I don't have a thicker one.

When I tried, it was absolutely painless and comfortable.
Other things hurt after that because I fell uncontrollably to the ground

I need to find a 10mm or above. Thanks for the answer. Few questions if you don't mind.

Did you used something as padding?

So you didn't felt pain before you lost consciousness?

Why did you fell? Rope broken?

I am always happy to receive questions.

No, I didn't take anything for upholstery. Depending on the material used, a thin scarf can prevent it from getting uncomfortable. Whereby it is only a matter of seconds if you turn the stick quickly and decisively from the start.

No, I wasn't in pain before I passed out. Just that wonderful feeling when it turns black.

Dude, we're talking about a tourniquet. I fell because I did it standing up and passed out. It wasn't planned that way, I just wanted to get a rough idea of how often I have to turn the stick.

10mm rope and 20mm stick works too well :pfff:

What if I don't pass out after 10 seconds? I will suffocate anyway?

If you haven't passed out after 10 seconds, then something is not entirely correct. But that doesn't automatically mean that you have to suffocate.

Whether your windpipe is being squeezed shut depends on your setup.

You can also place the knot at the front of your chin, then you should normally still be able to breathe.

I thought i will suffocate with pain anyway
When hanging, you usually do not suffocate, or you are unconscious long beforehand.

If you consciously experience suffocation while hanging, then you've done something pretty wrong. Unfortunately happens again and again.

Hanging out is usually quite comfortable and quick

Of course I've tried it, otherwise I would never "silly chatter" based on an "opinion".
I attempted it in May 2016.
Tourniquet seemed to me like a perfect method... so easy, lying in bed, just perfect.
But my neck was too muscular, and probably most importantly, my SI kicked in like a hurricane.
I couldn't close the arteries, my head was about to burst, and in what seemed to me as the last moment prior to a stroke - I backed out.
One needs a super-human will to harm himself, as it's not up to gravity, but up to your own hands and mind.
I understand how old people sometimes succeed in hospital beds... but for a younger person to go through with it, to me personally seems very difficult.

If that's what you want, then yes.

Then you should put the noose under the Adam's apple, it is painful and uncomfortable

with full suspension I cannot prevent the knot from moving upward due to gravity, from under the adam's apple.

Unfortunately I can't find my carotid artery... there's too much fats around my neck and I can't find anything pulsating strongly there. finding somewhere strong in my house where I can tie the noose to support my weight will be tough too..... im 6'3 and a fatass. Useful guide but difficult method in my case

Questions:

Is a shibari rope good?

Rope length?

Is tying it to a doorknob and throwing it over the door effective?

That's where it should be from the start if you're using full suspension - high up on your neck, just below the jaw...
Below adam's aple is for partial suspension >.<

The knot?
If you want to suffer and want to put the loop under the Adam's apple, then the knot must be at the back and the loop must be pulled together quite tightly under the Adam's apple so that it cannot slip over the Adam's apple immediately.

In this way you should be able to achieve that your larynx is pressed in, the windpipe is closed and you can suffocate with severe pain.

Is it your wish ?

To be on the safe side, I have to draw your attention to the fact that forcing doesn't work in exactly the same way, it also depends on your preparation and execution

Having the rope on my lower neck is so uncomfortable. I can't breathe and it hurts. It only works for me if it's higher up.

That's why the recommended position is higher. How do you come to try lower ?

I couldn't find the sweet spot at first so I just kept moving the rope up and down till I found it. Eventually found it under my jaw. Some people said higher on the neck worked best and some said lower.
